Jasper had woken up. He was going to be okay. Things were getting good...or so Venus thought. Venus was woken up by Clarke. She was concerned immediately, seeing Clarke's tears. "Hey, what is it?" The blond shook her head. "Clarke, what's wrong?"
"Wells...he was found dead this morning."

Why Wells? Why him? He was kind. He had sacrificed so much so Clarke wouldn't hate her own mother. He had saved Jasper's life by finding that seaweed, he had saved Bellamy and Venus. He was always there for everyone. Why did he have to die?"Hey..." A voice broke her from her thoughts.
She looked up, seeing Murphy and sighed. "Hey."
He sat beside her, putting his arm around her waist as she leant her head on him. "Are you okay?"
"I don't know...I was just talking to him last night and now he's gone. I can't believe he's gone." She placed her head in her hands.
"I know, I'm sorry." Murphy kept his hand on her arm. He could feel her tremble beneath him. "Hey, look at me." He gently pulled her up, grabbing her chin and turning her face towards him. "Don't cry, Vee. You're too pretty to cry." He wiped a tear away with his thumb and she laughed slightly.
"We almost lost Jasper and now we've lost Wells...it was just outside our walls, how did no one notice?"
"I don't know..."
"What if they come back?"
"Then it'll be you and me against them. We're gonna survive this together, like we always have."
"Together." As she stared at the boy beside her, she had one thought going through her mind. The Grounders need to go. They need to be killed. But she realised that thought terrified her.

As it reached the afternoon, Venus was helping Murphy with some chores around camp. Venus was quiet but Murphy was trying anything and everything to make her laugh. It worked some of the time, but now she was focused on something else."Vee?" Murphy tried but she either ignored him or she was zoned out. "Earth to Princess." He followed her line of sight, seeing a little girl who had fallen over.
Venus dropped the end of the log she was holding and headed over to the girl. "Hi," she spoke softly. "Are you okay?"
"I scraped my knee," she sniffled.
"Oh no. Can you let me see?" Vee knelt down in front of the girl who pointed at her knee. "Ouch. What's your name, sweetie?"
"Mel."
"Mel, I'm Vee, would it help if I got you a bandaid?" The girl nodded. "Alright, I'm gonna clean it a little first, okay?" Vee picked up a larger leaf as she stood, heading over to the water station. There was one for drinking and one for cleaning. She folded the leaf and dipped it in the cleaning water, heading back to the girl. "This is going to sting a little bit, okay?"
The girl nodded laid her leg out straight, watching Venus pour the water over her scrape. Murphy could see her scrunch her face up in pain, but other then that, she seemed okay. Vee disappeared into the dropship, returning later with a small bandaid.
"There, all finished. Does it feel better?"
Mel nodded. "Thank you, Vee." She wrapped her small arms around the back of Vee's neck.
Venus finally laughed and hugged the little girl back. "That's okay, Mel. You were so brave today. Good job."
"Can you play with me?"
"Oh, I..." Vee looked back at Murphy, who was still waiting for her. "I have to help my friend do some things around camp, I'm sorry."
"Oh, okay."
