16 - Repercussions - New Starts

VENUS'S P.O.V.

We had been walking for hours it seemed as it was already day. Murphy was leading the way and occasionally telling us which direction to go and other than that it was silent until Bellamy started.

"Alright Murphy, where to now?"

"I say we lose these first alright?" Murphy held up his hands, talking about the rope Bellamy had tied around them.

"No." Bellamy bluntly said.

"Hey if we get attacked out here I have nothing to defend myself-" Murphy started but got cut off by Bellamy.

"I don't care."

I rolled my eyes, taking out my knife, I cut Murphy free.

"Thank you."

"Hey, what the hell are you doing?" Bellamy grabbed my arm, stopping me from proceeding, just so he could yell at me.

"What? It was your idea to bring him." I said.

"No actually. It was yours." He replied.

"Yeah well, you were the one who backed me up."

"Because he's the only one who's seen where the Grounders keep their prisoners." He said and I used it to my advantage.

"Exactly. Then we probably shouldn't let him be defenseless out here. He'll die, and then we'll never get the others back. We can handle Murphy." I made my point. "I can handle Murphy." I corrected and smiled at my best friend who I actually still liked.

"Better hope so." Was all Bellamy replied with.

"So do I get a gun now?" Murphy asked, sarcastically and Bellamy replied by shoving him forwards.

I pretended to hold Murphy's hand when really I was secretly giving him a knife. We parted and I went to walk forwards without him but he stopped me and continued holding my hand.

I didn't fight it or pull away I just stood there with him as our fingers intertwind with each others.

"Let's get out of here." I whispered.

"I thought I was taking you to the grounder prison?" He responded.

"No I don't mean leave them I just mean get ahead of the crowd." I told him and rolled my eyes.

A couple minutes went by and we were maybe four meters ahead when Murphy finally spoke up after us being silent all this time. "So what does this mean?" He asked holding up his hand and pulling mine with it.

"Um, we're holding hands." I laughed.

"No I mean for us."

"Murphy I-"

"Oh come on Vee. We both know we still love each other, so what's stopping us right? You do still love me don't you?" He cut me off.

"Of course I do. It's just, you hurt me and you hurt my friends..And I know I helped too." I quickly added. "But you left me and I was on your side. Everyone wanted to hurt me or kill me. Octavia especially, and they would've if Bellamy didn't stop them." I told him.

"I'm sorry I didn't let you come ok? It's just with the grounders, it was dangerous. And now that we're finally safe, well almost, what's stopping us?" He repeated what he said only seconds ago.

He stopped walking which made me stop.

"Nothing I guess." I told him.

"Exactl-" I cut him off by kissing him.
