Today is Liam‟s Birthday. I actually met him when I became Gabby‟s friend
at States. They were actually a couple that time and so we always hangout
together if Gabby‟s around. He‟s a great guy and also a Filipino by blood
but his physical attributes is like an American.
I‟m not a good story teller but the reason why they broke up is because of a
girl from the Philippines. I haven‟t seen her nor Liam shared something
about that girl but I think she‟s special to Liam. I just hate how she broke up
Gabby‟s heart considering that he‟s my friend‟s first boyfriend.
So much for that because I still have a party to prepare. Dale might be
waiting for me already. It‟s better I arrived early in her place than being
late. Gabby called me to fetch her but I said I‟m going with Dale this time
though I don‟t literally mention her name.
I arrived fifteen minutes before 8:00 at her place. She opened the door and
there I found her sitting in front of the mirror fixing her hair and wearing a
white plain long dress.
“I‟m almost done. I‟ll just fix my hair.” She said while facing the mirror.
“It‟s okay. Do you need any help?” I asked.
“Of my hair? You know how to use a curler?” She tried to tease me.
“Why not? My mom has a salon in States and I do a part time in her place
when I was still in College.” I said.“Whoa!!!! Really??? I‟m sure you‟ve got plenty of customers because of your
looks.” She said.
“You can actually say that. But most of them are widowed or else old
women. Here, hand me the curler.” I said.
It‟s really almost done so I just try to fix few things on her hair especially the
back part.
“It‟s done. Dale, can I take a picture of us together?” I asked her.
“Well since you fix my hair, I‟ll say yes this time. Hand me your phone.” She
said.
We went together at Liam‟s party and upon we arrived to the place, she
became the center of attraction. Who wouldn‟t? Though her make - up is so
simple yet she dresses very elegant and it really suits her.
“Hey are you fine?‟‟, I asked her cause she‟s staring blankly on her glass of
wine.
“Yeah, I‟m okay. It‟s just I‟m not used to people staring at me.” She simply
said.
“Oh? I see. Would you like to take for a walk?” I asked her.
“Is that okay?”, she hesitantly asked.
“Yeah. Sure. I just tell Gab about it so that she won‟t find me later at the
party.” I said.
“Yeah, go ahead.” She said.
After that, I immediately find Gab in the middle of the crowd until I found
her talking to her dad in the long table. I intervene for a while and tell her
that I‟ll go for a walk with my date. She replied with a simple nod yet her
face is a little bit confusing.
We go for a walk near the seashore. I get her heels from her so that she can
walk better and enjoy the little waves.
“Dilann.” Out of nowhere, she said.
“Yes.” I simply replied.
“Is it okay for your friend that we left the party?” She asked.
“Yeah. She won‟t mind.” I answered.
“Good to hear.” She said.
“How‟s your relationship with Gabby? From my own perspective, it‟s quite
special.” She continued.
“Yes, she is. We‟re best friends and at the same time siblings. We argue but
eventually fixed our own mess.” I said to her.
“Have you not tried to be lovers?” She curiously asked.
“I don‟t. I decided to myself not to court her. It doesn‟t mean she‟s not my
type but I think I just see her as a friend.” I explained.
“Did she also see you the same way?” She asked again.
“Uhmm. It‟s so hard to assume but from the looks of it, we she treated me
someone special since before. But as time passes by, she get used to our
relationship. “ I replied as well.
“ How about you? Are you allowed to date?” I asked her.
She was quite surprised but simply smiled.
“I guess, I am. [laughs] But, I‟m afraid someone won‟t try to. You know the
reason why.” She said.
“It‟s because you‟re stressful to be with and always busy with work?” I
confirmed.
“Definitely!” She said.“Well, I guess you just need a man who could understand your job. It‟s
simple as that.” I said trying to get her side.
“Maybe, you‟re right. But, unfortunately, I‟m not an outgoing person. So, I
seldom meet people.” She replied again.
“You don‟t need to go out just to find one. Who knows? Perhaps he‟s one of
your colleague, friends or simply a client.” I said that made her blush.
“You‟re making me feel awkward. Too straightforward is not good
sometimes.” She said.
“Oh, I‟m sorry. I just want to imply that it‟s always a blessing in disguise to
fall in love to someone and meet a relationship that will last.” I said. She
just nodded to what I‟ve said.
“ Going back at you, technically, you‟re single right now if you‟re not in a
relationship with Gabby?” She asked. I find it awkward as well but I tried to
hide it from her.
“Don‟t you know you‟re blushing?” She asked again.
“Yeah. Why? Isn‟t it obvious” I said trying to cut her off from teasing me.
“No!” She just laughed.

“No!” She just laughed
