"WHAT?!" Miyeon spit her coffee out of her mouth, Shuhua dodging it while Yuqi sat there stifiling her laugh."She said that they're the reporters, babe." Soyeon clarified, as Minnie stared at Yuqi with wide eyes.
"I know that! I'm just so surprised!" Miyeon retorted, her volume raising once again.
"I think I'm deaf now." Soojin complained, a smile plastering itself onto her face when Shuhua laughed at her comment.
"You guys are coming to my wedding?" Minnie asked softly, her eyes still wide as she stared at Yuqi, who suddenly felt incredibly awkward under her gaze.
"Yeah, I-I hope that's alright." Yuqi stuttered, as the girls all sat in shock, with Miyeon yelling at Soyeon for her goofiness, Shuhua and Soojin taking far too many secret looks at each other, and Minnie and Yuqi sitting in silence, not one person daring to make the first move.
"Congratulations, by the way. Mark looks like a nice man." Yuqi smiled briefly at Minnie, who felt her breath being taken away.
"I don't want Mark, I want you." Minnie thought as Yuqi looked at her with dark brown eyes.
"Thanks, he is." Minnie responded, not catching how Yuqi's mood deflated, the conversation suddenly returning to it's grim state.
"I hate to intruppt whatever silent party you two have going on here but we need to head to the cake shop. We'll have to do the food another day, as we can't have Minnie being bloated when she tries her dress on." Miyeon announced, as Shuhua and Yuqi panicked, they didn't have a ride there.
They walked to the café in the first place.
"Uh, how far is it?" Shuhua asked, as Soyeon checked her phone.
"About a 20 minute drive." Soyeon answered casually, as Shuhua and Yuqi looked at each other with wide eyes.
"We're so fucked." They both thought.
"I guess we better start walking now, then." Yuqi started to grab her stuff, as Minnie grabbed her wrist lightly.
"There's no way I'm letting you walk in this weather. You and Shuhua can carpool with Soojin and I." Minnie said, as Yuqi nodded, gulping.
"Uh---are you sure?" Yuqi asked hesitantly, as Minnie nodded, her hand still on Yuqi's wrist as all of the girls followed each other out of the café.
"This is so uncomfortable." Shuhua whispered to Yuqi in mandarin, as the girl nodded.
"We could have been better off walking." Yuqi responded, as Shuhua snickered quietly.
"How did you guys get here?" Soojin asked, as Yuqi noticed the way her gaze lingered on Shuhua for longer than it should have.
"Our boss sent us. We're the highest ranking on the team, and I guess Mark is popular in China, perhaps." Shuhua answered, as Minnie and Soojin nodded.
"I wonder what would have happened if he sent Kuanlin and Lucas instead." Yuqi wondered, as Shuhua laughed loudly, the other two girls had their eyes widened.
"Lucas?!" Minnie muttered, keeping her eyes on the road.
"Kuanlin?!" Soojin mirrored her expression as she looked over into the back seats, where Shuhua and Yuqi were busy laughing.
