Chapter 32: Our Hands

(Flashback continuues..)
A few days later.. Ayato was waiting outside a room. Dr Ichiri came up to him.
“kikusui.. good job out there”
“Ohh you’re here..”
“Whatsup? Calling me out of nowhere..’”
“ichiri, tell me honestly.. do you know about the research going in this hospital?”
“..yes.. I do..”
“I see.. and your father told you?”
“Yes..”
“My father told me too. Half a year ago. The hospital is researching on wiping out the memories and LMD is the side effect which was born due to it… ichiri. I’m going to tell you honestly. I can’t forgive my father and your father for killing kanna!! Not just the LMD, but for not disclosing it and taking part in organ harvesting.. I’m going to spend the next few years gathering evidence, then I’ll go public with it.
What will you do ichiri? Will you tell the. What I’m gonna do?”
“.no!! I feel the same way. I will help you out”
“Are you sure? Because I’m sure that our Fathers are expecting us to continue with the business..if you are to stay quiet and do what they want then you can get them all.. money ..power.. fame. But If you go with me.. you’llbe treated as a family member of criminals.”
“I know.. and honestly I don’t care… let’s do this!”
“Alright..”

Few days later…
“Ichiri.. I have decided..  I’m going to confront my father at the party tomorrow..”
“I see.. if so..”
“Yea tomorrow night.. after I tell him. We’ll send those reports to each and every location.. after that we’ll probably be busy..”
“But would it be okay to tell your father directly?”
“Yes.. I need to tell him directly.. I need him to apologise to all the LMD patients… I’m sorry about this but this is what something I have to do..”
“I see.. that’s fine.. I mean we have worked together since 2 years”
“Alright, then it’s tomorrow!!”

Tomorrow at the party.
Ayato went to his dad’s cabin. He saw another man there. He wore a white coat and he recognised him. It was Dr Ichiri’s father. He also saw his father tied up with a fat rope.
“Hey?? What’s going on here?? Why are you all tied up!”
“Ayato.. I heard that you were trying to get revenge on me.. ichiri told me everything..”
Ichiri’s dad looks at Ayato and says.
“Ayato.. Get out through that window now.. this building will explode soon..”
“What??? Explode?? What are you saying..”
Ayato’s dad spoke up.
“What he is saying is the truth..”
“But.. I want to..”
“let me talk to my son for one last time mr ichiri..”
“Fine..”
Ichiri’s dad went aside and sat on a chair. Ayato and his father Started talking.
“dad?”
“Ayato.. you are mistaken..”
“What?”
“You think I did terrible things to that girl isn’t it?”
“…”
“But that’s not the truth.. in the book case , there is a last volume of the diary that I didn’t give you..”
“Wha..”
“I was going to give it to you one day. You should go and read it. I don’t get any pleasure to see you suffer. When you become a parent, you will understand too.. one day..”
“What .. so you are talking like some cheap movie villain now? How many LMD patients do you think have died because of what you guys did? If you even have a shred of guilt, then apologise to everyone..”
“And that’s where you are wrong..there is no need for me to apologise.”
“??”
“because all LMD patients will come back to LIFE!!”
Ichiri’s dad stood up at once and shouted..
“mr kikusui! Don’t!!!”
Ayato’s father continued..
“Ayato, think about it .. why do you think we can do so much for some small experiment like tweaking with people’s memories.? We can hide about LMD , and organ harvesting.. and get a blank cheque for anything we do.. look at the people in the party. They are all very influential people. Do you think we would get so much support for just a small experiment?”
“That’s enough! Don’t say anymore.. I’ll seriously make it explode!!” said Ichiri’s dad.
“ the entire memory wiping experiment is a cover up! What we are researching for is something different.”
“Sonething different??” asked Ayato.
“That’s right.!! What we are actually researching for is time leaping! Returning back to time!!”
“Kikusui!!! Shut up!” said Ichiri’s dad.
“Huh?? Have you lost your mind?” Said Ayato
“Think about it Ayato! Do you really think the hospital came up to what is now just because of memory wiping?”
“that’s  enough!! If you speak any more I’ll have to kill your son as well..”
“Can??? Can you really do that huh?”
Ayato spoke up..
“You guys are nuts! Something is really wrong!! I mean what is this situation anyways? Dr Ichiri’s dad. Are you really going to blow this up?”
“That’s right Ayato, there is a reason why he is blowing the whole thing up and going that far. When you get back home, open my safe and read the research notes..
Ichiri’s father astonished..
“Kikusui! You can’t have those.. fi—”
“ohhh! You wanna know? Then call this off!”
Ayato shouted with confusion..
“What are you guys talking about? You guys think time leap is really possible?”
“Ayato! You must have a past that you want to return to! That girl.. she gave me a letter..”
“What??!”
“If you return to the past! You can stay with her and be with her! And if you need you can even us the—”
Just then Ichiri’s dad pulled out a remote.. and pressed it.
“60 seconds.. this building will blow up in 60 seconds.. Ayato, if you don’t leave right now, you will be killed with your dad  as well.. this isnt a threat anymore..”
“Mr ichiri. You can’t be serious about blowing up the building!”
His dad spoke up..
“Ayato, go!! He is serious!!!”
“but..”
“40 seconds..”
“Ayato.. don’t trust Ichiri’s son.. he knows everything as well.. like father like son.. both liars..”
“my son knows nothing!! 30 seconds!!”
“Dammit! I’ll go call the security!”
Ayato went towards the window..and jumped off.. Ichiri’s father and Ayato’s father were looking at each other..
“What? Aren’t you gonna blow up? You won’t have time to escape! See.. can’t you think over this? If You can’t trust me you can still use resonance right? Let’s work on this together..”
“I guess you can’t take your mind off the research huh.. I’m just making sure Ayato has escaped far enough. I have back-up plans if this doesn’t work out.. one is a gamble though..”
“Back up plans? I see.. then why don’t you get out of here.. it’s gonna blow up anyway but I sure wasn’t expecting to get betrayed by my oldest friend at the very end.. I guess it was for that child.. well I hope that some day you will change and come back in the past to save me anyway..”
“Kikusui.. you are mistaken here..”
“??”
“I said I’m going to get rid off everyone who knows this. That includes me!”
“What?!!! Have you gone mad?? Perhaps I’m still saner than you!.. this all was a lie. That note.. it was a cover up! I even threw that letter …”
“I see as much as I guessed.. well anyways.. I domt have any regrets meeting you..”
“Yea.. it’s not a bad way to end like this.. hahaha..”

Boom. Everything was on fire. The building collapsed.

*End of flashback*

Haruto went towards his home to return the diaries of the director.
‘ I guess this is the end..’He took them back to Hospital.. there he saw a nurse.who was looking at the drawing mad on that book.
“Excuse me kid..”
“Yea?”
“May I have a look at that picture?”
“Ohh this drawing??”
“Yes..”
“Sure.. “
When she saw the drawing she got excited.
“you know what! My sister has the same drawing and she treasures it a lot!”
“Ohh. Really? You know this?”
“Yes! My sister used to be a nurse in this hospital.. and that was the drawing she received from her first patient. I think her name was… hmm…”.
SheShe thought for a while.. Haruto was excited too.. he waited for he to say the name.
“Yes.. I think her name was…

Kanna!”
