Chapter 34: The Other Side Of The Mirror

Haruto came to visit dr Ichiri.
“Dr Ichiri..I’m here to tell you that I was able to convince director kikusui. And just like you said. I was able to get all my memories back.”
“I see.. that’s good then..”
“I have still parts of memory that are fuzzy. But I do feel weird with all my memories are now coming back. I don’t know which is the real me.”
“Its fine you’ll get used to it.”
“actually, there is something I want you to tell me.”
“ what is it?”
“About the medical ward that the director and kanna were in..”
Dr Ichiri told him about the past. And Haruto told him what he got reminded.
“I see.. there are still parts that I don’t understand, but. I’ll leave it to your judgement, Haruto”
“Thank you”
“I would like to thank you too” said ichiri with a convincing smile.
“??”
“What? Did I say something strange?”
“No.. you just seemed a bit different”
“I see..”
And Haruto went straight towards the director’s office..
“Excuse me..” he said and saw the director looking out of the window. He Turned around.
“Ohh it’s you. I remember telling you to leave me alone. Or are you here for a revenge or something? Cus you are eligible to do—”
“Director Kikusui! …. Please come with me.!”
“What are you saying?”
“please, just follow me..”
“I have no idea what you are saying but.. why not huh.. alright I’ll come..”
“You will find out soon..”
Haruto led the director to an old medical ward.
“this is…”
“ Its okay.. just follow me..”
Haruto went inside an old broken ward led by a small hole on the wall. He came to another room. It was the same room that Aoi went to.. that same room where they took pictures.
“Whatt? So there was an entrance here?!! Did you find this? Haha. I came here in this ward to visit kanna’s room. But never saw this room.”
“Director.. come here..”
“What is th—”
“It’s a vacant room where you and kanna met for the first time..”
“I see.. I didn’t realise since the entrance was blocked. And anyways..what’s special in this room that you took me here.. “
“You wanted to know what kanna left for you right?”
“Yea..but the letter is gone now..”
“It wasn’t the letter.. it was probably an invitation..”
“Invitation?”
“that’s right. To this location..”
“ I don’t understand.. what do you mean???”
“Its simple.. director.. just look at the wall behind you..”
The director turned around.. What he saw was overwhelming to him.
On the wall was the same drawing that kanna made on the diary. The same ghost. And a message written on the wall..
*CLING ON TO HAPINESS*

“Kanna’s .. drawing…. I see.. this is what you..”
His eyes were wet.
*Flashback*
Kanna came to the room the empty room.
“Phew.. that was hard..”
She took a big black marker. And started writing..
“Phew.. some more.. I can still do it…”
She finally made the drawing..
“Ayato will be so happy.. hehe.. it’s not bad ..but it should be fine.. I guess he will understand it.. Ayato..I’ll leave the letters here..”
She kept all the letters near the wall.
“Okay..now I have to give the invitation.. I kinda feel sad that this is the end… I hope he.. likes it..”

*End of flashback*

The director opened the box which contained letters.. he read out the first one..

Dear Ayato
There are so many things that I want to write about. But I can’t write too much. So I’ll tell you what I need to tell you the most.
Ever since I first met you, my life has been full of happiness. Every day was Full of joy for me. So now, I want you to be happy. I want you to experience more happiness than anyone could.
I want you to cling to the happiness that you can. That’s my biggest wish and request for you..
Yours sincerely..

Ohh I’ll also write what I wanted to say the second most..
I’ve always loved you. I’m sorry for not being able to stay with you foreve. But I was really happy..

P.s.  did you really think this was the end?. I have written many extra letters. There are a lot of them. So please read one every year. But if you fall in love with any other girl, you can read all of them at once.. well, see you next year.

He wiped his tears..
“Haha.. what do you mean one every year.. seems like I can read a lot Ion one go for all these years.. But you wrote so much that even if I read them, there will be still some left…. Kanna.. “
He couldn’t stop his tears..
“Seems like kanna wanted to surprise you till the very end ..”
“Yea… thank you , Haruto… I have to give you my sincere thanks.”
“No it’s okay.. I didn’t do much..”
“If I’d known sooner that this was the place..”
“Are you having any regrets?”
I guess so.. but I feel relieved.. there are Feelings that will never disappear though…. Cling to happiness huh.. that’s so like her.. “
He looked at Haruto..
“Haruto, I won’t run away now. What my father did, and what I did can’t be forgiven. But I promise to dedicate rest of my life to LMD’s cure. And maybe one day, I can find my happiness.”
“Thank you”
The director looked at the flowers that grew in the corner of the room.
“Ohh! By the way. These flowers.. could they be..”
He went near them. Haruto came near the flowers to touch them.
“Ohh right! This could probably b—”
“Kikusui!! Don’t touch them” said Dr ichiri as he just came in. Both of them turned around.
“Ichiri! Why are you here?”
“ I will fix…
