Promise Me No Promises

"Does it hurt, Baek?" Chanyeol says in affectionate voice to Baekhyun while holding his hand. But Baekhyun releases his hand from Chanyeol's while focusing on the monitor of ultrasound with anxious eyes.

"The baby is totally okay until now. Just stay alert for few days. Come to hospital anytime if you feel anything wrong. Don't worry about the well being of baby,okay?" The lady doctor assures Baekhyun while running the probe on his tummy and observing the monitor of ultrasound infront.

"Should I admit him right now in hospital ? I don't wanna take any risk about safety of the baby," Chanyeol says as the doctor stands up from chair after examining Baekhyun.

"There's no need of that, lieutenant Park. Consult with me anytime ,if he feels panicked. He is just in need of treatment of his ankle pain. I am referring him to orthopaedic doctor."

"Luckily it's not fracture ,just ligament sprain. I am gonna prescribe him some painkillers and he will on full bed rest from 7 days. That's advice from both me and pregnancy specialist. It's better to pluster his leg right now. Then at least he will feel comfort ,as the leg will be on full rest," Orthopaedic doctor talks with Chanyeol after examining Baekhyun's leg.

"I am not going to let the doctor to pluster my leg," Baekhyun says while not looking at Chanyeol.

"Ah! ......Why?.... It will be better for both of you. Let's go on full bed rest for 1 week," Chanyeol sighs being already tired of too much incorporated behaviour of Baekhyun.

"Leave me alone now. Lay hyung will pick me up here," Baekhyun checks his phone.

"I am not leaving you. You have to return with me right now or let's keep you admitted in hospital for 1 week," Chanyeol suddenly takes Baekhyun's phone away from him.

"Yah! Chanyeol, give my phone back now," Baekhyun was sitting on a waiting bench of corridor. He stands up from his seat and jumps to catch the hanging phone in Chanyeol's raised hand which is so higher for midget Baekhyun.

Baekhyun whimpers in pain as the pain of ankle suddenly attacks him too much.

" what's in your phone,huh? Let's talk with me," Chanyeol supports Baekhyun's body keeping a hand on his slender waist. But Baekhyun tries to push him back while again seating on the bench.

"Leave me alone. Otherwise I will scream," Baekhyun says with serious expression.

"Baekhyun, just answer me three questions,okay? Can't you understand there's something fishy in it?"

" Yes,too much fishy . My husband is an expert hooker who catches big fishes only outside home. And today I caught him red handed. Still that characterless has guts to talk with me," Baekhyun says in angry low voice as he is aware that they are fighting outside home.

"For the god sake just 3 questions. Why you went there at that time? Anyone inspired you to go there? And how you know Kyungsoo,is it Kyungsoo who made you to do?" Chanyeol doesn't lose his patience while trying to calm down Baekhyun.

"Stop acting smarter. I saw your face while he mentioned audio records. You have cheated on me," Baekhyun throws his hands in disappoint while saying in loud voice.

"Aish! ...... Calm down. The baby will get scared. Who won't feel embarrassment hearing his ex is going to expose old audio records to his spouse. What if he edits them using only parts of several conversations. It was too much awkward for me when he mentioned it. Sorry to say that he is my ex-lover. But that's past,you are my present and future now."

"How many ex-lovers do you have? You mentioned about one before? Right now I have found out another one. What's the actual number, characterless?" Baekhyun says in sad shuttering voice.

"He is that one. We were friends in high school. We started sharing few dates in school. It converted into bit serious relationship during airbase training when we were freshmen in airforce. We continued until I found him in another one's bed," Chanyeol says while smiling. Why does it doesn't feel bad about break up anymore now? What Chanyeol knows,the least connection he had with Kyungsoo is totally gone. Now all he has is only Baekhyun.

"I saw your photos together? Stop telling that you two were freshmen that time," Baekhyun gives threatening looks at Chanyeol while taking his phone back from Chanyeol's hand.

Baekhyun opens the message folder to check the photos while Chanyeol almost feels suffocated looking at the couple photos of him and Kyungsoo.

But the sender is really so dumb!

"Ugh!.... Why do I look such a dumb here? This is at least 4 years old. This portion of officer's canteen is now part of airport now. And just look at the badges, I was just a newly joined officer then," Chanyeol lies randomly as his shoulder badges are not properly seen because of his hand's position in the photo. Luckily there's not too much photo and his shoulder badges are mostly can't be seen properly because of his favourite V sign showing pose.

"But the menu was same that you ate. And you even complained your lover that I can't fix your badges. When did I fix your badges wrongly?" Baekhyun says while zooming the photos.  Chanyeol thanks to God that Baekhyun doesn't know that with minimum badges and shoes an officer's rank can be explained when he is on relaxing time in barack.

" Lunch menu is almost same in officer's canteen for almost 10 years. Even if you ask dad,he will also mention about same menu. Please trust me. Who has sent you these? Why didn't you ask me once? I wanted to say more about my past relationship you several times a . But later I thought to say you after our baby comes and Baekhyun you said also that you don't care about past. You assured me to focus only on present with you," Chanyeol kneels infront Baekhyun.

"Why? Are you regretting that you couldn't get warned? Kyungsoo's fiancée's ex-lover has told me about your extracurricular activities," Baekhyun controls himself from not kicking the dumb yoda kneeling infront him.

"Who's that?" Chanyeol asks with bigger eyes.

"Lee Taemin.... He is kyungsoo's.....," before Baekhyun completes Chanyeol stops him.

"What!!!!!..... Why he?"

"Do you know him?"

"That devil child! He is kyungsoo's cousin. Kyungsoo is engaged with an  aeronautical engineer from USA. How a high schooler from Seoul can be ex-lover of him? Even Kyungsoo didn't know him before going on trip to USA this year. I heard about them after getting engaged actually. Taemin can never be his ex. That's impossible. I know that devil so better. They planned together to make you to fall in trap. Kyungsoo hates me after I broke up with him . But won't it be just opposite? Just imagine I discovered him with another man in bed while doing sex. Ugh!!!.....And you are trusting them! ," Chanyeol explains while mixing bit lie about how he knew Kyungsoo met Kai this year.

"Really? How long ago you two broke up? 4 years ago then?" Baekhyun asks while suddenly forgetting his anger.

"Yeah .... Almost......Trust me for the God sake," Chanyeol stands up from kneeling position while wiping invisible dust from his pants.

"You are not lying to me , right, Chanyeol?.....Promise me.......Promise me on our little angel, " Baekhyun says suddenly in emotional voice . His hand is on his tummy as a motherly unconscious instinct.

Chanyeol doesn't know what to say. But sometimes lies are necessity for life. He doesn't have courage to say the actual incidence to Baekhyunn right now. Future will say what to do ......

"Hmm... Promise.... Now let's get plustered your leg."
