[AN: Sorry for the late update. Previous Chapter: Gulf went back with Mew after hiding in Mild's house. He asked Tong for help in locating Kaownah. Gulf and Kaownah had a faceoff.]

20: A Way Out

It was almost midnight when Mew went back to the condo.

He walked quietly so as not to wake up Gulf who fell asleep while playing with his phone. He carefully picked up the phone from his hand and locked it before placing it on the table. Then, he turned off the lights so that only the table lamp would illuminate the bedroom.

He went for a shower, drowning his thoughts on what had happened on his recent meeting. It drained away all of his energy and he felt hopeless with his situation.

Will he ever bounce back?

He returned to bed with only his cotton pants on and spooned the younger guy, not forgetting to place a light kiss on his temple.

It immediately recharged the energy that he had lost.

As long as he has Gulf, he has everything he needs.

Content, he fell asleep.

And Gulf opened his eyes.

He had woken up when he heard Mew showering and had pretended to sleep to see if Mew would say something.

Usually, he would hear Mew whisper sweet nothings to him while he was lying between sleep and consciousness. These past few days after his return, Mew was too absorbed in work, that they rarely have time to cuddle. Even in the office he would only see Mew in the morning when they go to work together. And every time he can glimpse the CEO, his face would look stressed, down even, and Gulf wondered whether Sonata was having problems with their branches.

As an added secretary, he is not the same level as Tong and AA, so he doesn't know the inner way on how they manage the business. His theories were solely based on files and schedules that they would ask him to do, but even from those, he can't see any possible problems that Sonata is facing. In fact, they're even doing good with their partnerships.
