Hiccup POV

I covered my ears as the high-pitched screaming started.

Thor, it's like she has never seen a dragon before! Then again, most people still think they are dangerous and kill people.

I quickly ran over to Toothless and told him to stay there. I carefully knelt down to Astrid and comfortingly put an arm around her.

"Hey Astrid, he won't hurt you," I said soothingly.

She looked at me with her striking, wide, blue eyes but tried to escape from my grasp. I have to say, she's strong!

"I know you think that all dragons do is kill, but they are actually gentle creatures. Toothless would never hurt a fly!" I continued but evidently, she didn't hear a word I said.

"What the hell is that thing?! Where are you people from?! Please let me go!" She whimpered and thrashed in my grip.

I frowned. She doesn't know what a dragon is? I thought dragons were everywhere in the world, but apparently not in this part. Ok, she hasn't ever seen a dragon before so how am I going to get her to calm down? Hmm.

I beckoned Toothless to slowly come over. Astrid widened her eyes and struggled stronger than ever to get free.

This isn't going to work. I can't force her.

I gently placed my hands on her shoulders and looked her straight in her azure eyes.

"He won't hurt you, Astrid. I swear it with my life! But I need you to calm down. I know we just met but I need you to trust me," I said slowly.

Astrid looked at me for a few seconds with her mouth open. Eventually she stopped struggling and sat still. I let go of her and she stayed there. Good. I waved Toothless over and he slowly waddled over. I gently took Astrid's hand and placed it on Toothless's nose. She  flinched and started breathing fast. I placed my other hand on her back and her heartbeat slowed and she relaxed. A small smile appeared on her face and she slowly stood up, with her hand still touching Toothless. She then placed her other hand on his flank and she started stroking Toothless. He hummed contented and lifted his head for her to scratch underneath it. Astrid was startled by the sudden movement but quickly relaxed again.

All the while, the rest of the gang was standing a few feet away watching quietly.

"So the dragon whisperer becomes the woman whisperer!" Tuff whispered, right by my ear. "Didn't know you had it in you Hiccy. Congrats!"

"He learnt from the best!" Snotlout said, pointing at himself.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled at them. Sometimes it's really nice to have them around, to lighten the mood. I turned around to see if Astrid was doing okay and saw her now approaching the other dragons.

"Umm Hiccup?" Fishlegs said catching my attention. "So, what do you think happened?"

"From what Astrid told us, we are not anymore on the Defenders of the Wing island anymore. We're somewhere called Fairbanks, which means that we were somehow transportated. The words that I spoke somehow brought us here. I don't know how though," I said what I was thinking.

I turned around and walked over to Astrid. She was meanwhile already playing with the dragons.

"Have you ever heard of Berk?" I asked her.

"Nope," she said as she threw a stick for Toothless to fetch.

"Are we still in the Archipelago?" I asked further.
