Astrid POV

I opened the door to my house and trudged inside. I tripped over a matrice and cursed under my breath while I regained my balance. My parents are horrible liers. There is not enough space.

I threw my schoolbag into my room and followed the sounds of voices which led me to the kitchen.

"Hey babe!" Snotlout winked at me. Uhg.

"How were your exams? You had Biology and English today, right?" Mom asked, looking up from the magazine she was reading.

"I think my head is going to explode! I can't believe that the weekend is already over!" I groaned and made myself some lunch.

"Why would you have a subject in school about a language you can already speak?" Fishlegs asked puzzled.

"You know, sometimes I wonder the same thing," I sighed.

I looked around the kitchen and noticed that that the twins and Hiccup weren't here.

"Where are the others?" I asked.

"The twins have discovered the television," dad said with a knowing smile.

"It's the biggest mistake I've ever made!" Mom said, shaking her head. "They've now been watching 'Destroy Build Destroy' since this morning!"

I chuckled as I heard cheers and hollers coming from the living room.

"And Hiccup?" I asked, trying to hide the curiosity in my voice.

"I think he is in the guest room but I he said that he wanted to go and check up on his dragon," dad said, without looking up from his newspaper. "It's still a bit strange to me that Berk made peace with the dragons. At least the struggle over there is now over."

I left the kitchen before he finished talking and made my way to the guest room. The door was slightly ajar and I peeked inside. Hiccup was sitting on the edge of the bed and packed some things into a bag. He looked up and saw me staring at him. I blushed and quickly slipped inside.

"Are you going to check up on Toothless?" I asked.

"Yeah. He must be worried by now," he said and dropped some instruments I didn't recognize into the bag.

"Can I come with you?" I asked nervously. I don't want to seem clingy or anything.

"Of course," he said, smiling at me.

I think I'm going to melt. Oh my God. I don't understand what's happening! Everytime I saw him for the last few days, my heart felt like it would beat out my chest!

Hiccup quickly zipped up the full bag and slung it over his shoulder.

"Let's go," he said and brushed passed me. I stood there like an idiot for a few seconds and then quickly caught up with them.

He was already standing on the road, waiting for me. Jeez, he's fast.
As I arrived, he started walking down the road.

"Umm, the forest is that way," I called after him and pointed in the opposite direction.

"I knew that!" he said grinning and turned on his heel.

We walked in silence for a few minutes and I fidgeted not knowing what to say.

Finally Hiccup broke the silence, "You look nice today. It beats the day we met you."

I blushed and looked down at myself. Ethan also complimented me today but it didn't feel the same when Hiccup said it.
