Midoriya's POV (the image above physically hurts me)
Horrible.
That's the only way I could describe how I feel.
Normally, I would feel happy and comfortable while lying next to Kacchan, but I kept catching myself staring at the ceiling, numbness filling my body as the blonde struggled to entertain me.
Kacchan placed his hand on my forehead, murmuring words that I couldn't hear, because my ears were filled with a white noise that made me want to cry, because sometimes, the pain gets too much.
Right now was one of those times.
Kacchan was silent as he wiped the tears from my cheeks, his lips sometimes moving with no sound coming out. My eyes rolled from side to side, dizziness overcoming me as I choked on acid, but I swallowed it down, knowing that throwing up would just make me more of a burden.
"Kacchan?" I called weakly, eyes closed and reaching blindly to my right, smiling faintly when I felt a hand gently take mine.
"I'm still here, Izuku."
I didn't reply, the sound of the older teen's voice making my headache worsen.
I gripped the hand tightly, my muscles tensed and shaking as Kacchan ran his fingers through my hair, trying his best to soothe me, even though it wasn't working.
There was a knock at the door and Recovery Girl walked in, her hero clothes replaced with casual wear.
"How are you today, young hero?" she asked, pushing a chair over and climbing onto the bed.
I tried my best to give her a smile, even though it was fake. "I-I've been better, Recovery Girl."
The old woman nodded and examined my leg, humming a soft tune as she did so.
"After this treatment your leg will be fully healed, though you are not allowed to walk around on your own, or at all," she turned to her side and pointed to the other end of the room, where a wheel chair sat in the corner. "You will have to use this wheel chair for a few weeks until your other injuries heal, especially since there was a significant amount of damage done to your nervous system."
I nodded, biting my lower lip. I glanced over to Kacchan, the teen looking at me with a sad expression while holding my hand tighter.
"When can I leave the hospital?" I asked the healing hero, gaining her attention as she climbed onto the bed again with a small bag.
She sighed. "You will be here for a maximum of three weeks, minimum one."
I clenched my teeth together, using my free hand to ball up some of the thin grey hospital blanket.
"Do I have to wait that long?" I asked, feeling the need to leave the hospital and go back to the dorms. "I'm already better, Recovery Girl. There really is no reason for me to stay here."
I made my way to sit up, ignoring the flaring pain in my waist with a wince. Three hands instantly pushed me back down, two of them being Recovery Girl's while Kacchan used his one free hand, his other still clenching to mine.
"Stay down, Izuku. Don't fight with what Recovery Girl says." The youngest Bakugou murmured, giving my shoulder a squeeze before moving his hand.
Recovery Girl removed a part of the blanket that covered my broken leg and went over my injuries, her eyes flashing towards the bandages on my waist as a saddened expression seeped over her facial features.
"You will feel very tired after this, Midoriya." She informed me, pressing on my shoulder to get me to relax into the pillows.
I silently nodded and inhaled shakily, blinking some loose tears away while holding Kacchan's hand tighter.
