WARNING: mentions of self-harm scars and the talk of suicide.
Aizawa's POV
I tried not to stare at the scars that lined Midoriya's body as I held onto his wrist, successfully keeping him steady while Recovery Girl gave him the sedative. It was so depressing to see one of my brightest students hurt so much; to see the damage that his chosen career had already done to his body without him even graduating yet.
Hell, he was only in his first year of hero studies, and half his body was filled with scars, majority accidents and some self-inflicted.
Recovery Girl injected the greenette with the needle and released the sedative into his system, putting a circular Band-Aid on the spot where a small bead of blood appeared once she removed the needle.
I gently let go of Midoriya's wrist, my fingers lingering on his self-harm scars before I looked up, Midoriya meeting his green eyes with mine.
"T-Thank you," he trembled, trying and failing to give Recovery Girl and I a smile. "Thank you so much."
We both smiled, showing that we understood while Recovery Girl made her leave.
Midoriya relaxed back into the pillows, Bakugou shifting away from him and looking up to glance at me quickly.
"How's Shouto going?" He asked, turning and sitting on the bed beside his best friend.
I sighed. "He's not doing too well, and I'm not going to hide his condition from you, since you are family."
Bakugou nodded, blinking and looking down. "Please tell me, Sensei."
I pressed my lips together, moving to sit beside him on the bed.
"Before I tell you, I want you to know that you can talk to me about anything, okay?" The blonde nodded and I continued. "Todoroki has been having seizures, and his heart keeps stopping. The doctors don't know what's causing them, and while he's asleep, Recovery Girl can't use her quirk on him because he is still weak. However, if we wake him up there is a possibility that he will be strong enough for treatment, but he will be in a significant amount of pain."
Bakugou looked behind him towards Midoriya, moving his hand to rest it on the slightly unconscious teen's knee. "So you're going to wake him up?"
I tapped on the blanket, watching the blonde carefully. "I'm planning to, but I don't want to do it without your consent."
"My consent?" The teen wondered, confused.
I nodded. "You're his brother, Bakugou. You have the power over his condition at the moment, even though you're a minor."
Bakugou clenched his teeth together. "Okay," he took a moment, looking towards the ceiling. "Wake him up. Please."
I smiled, inhaling. "Consider it done."
The blonde smiled, joy overcoming his features as he looked back at Midoriya.
"Did you hear that Izuku?" Bakugou exclaimed, shifting closer to the teen and gripping his shoulder. "He's going to be okay. Shouto's going to be okay."
Midoriya didn't reply, looking dazed with his half-lidded eyes that flashed with confusion for a few seconds.
I slipped off the bed and put my hand on Bakugou's shoulder. "He doesn't understand, Bakugou. The sedative's kicking in."
Bakugou glanced at me before nodding, taking Midoriya's hand. "It's going to be okay, Izuku. Shouto's going to wake up."
Midoriya took that moment to finally slip into a restful sleep.
