Chapter 19~Working Together

Nagito's POV:

~A Couple Days Later~

"Come on Hajime! We're gonna be late for school~!" Chiaki says, making him groan some. It's been a couple of days since that encounter with the hunters lackeys...I'm feeling better then I did, but Hajime still won't let me get up and do anything. It's kinda annoying, but I don't really care...~ All that matters to me is that he's here and not off doing something dangerous...though...that may change today. As far as I know, they're gonna check out Peko and Fuyuhikos hideout at school for information, but...I have a feeling they may do more then that...which is concerning.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I feel a hand on my shoulder, "Hey Nagito...are you okay...? Maybe I should just stay here and not go..." Hajime says, making me look over at him. "I'm okay...I promise...~ Go on ahead and go to school with Chiaki and Souda." I say with a slight smile. I honestly wish that he would just stay here, but Chiaki has been insisting on having him go...whatever reason she has for wanting him to be there must be important, so I'm not gonna get in the way...

"Yea! We'll take good care of him Hajime~ You can count on us!" Akane says with a grin as she sits next to me, irritating Hajime some. "Fine..." he says with a sigh as he hugs me, "If you need anything at all just message me okay...?" I blush some and hug him back tightly, "Okay...~" I say, letting him go afterwards. As he leaves I hear Akane call out to him, "You two are so cute~!" She says, Hajime yelling something back at her before he shuts the door.

I giggle some to myself, making both Akane and Nekomaru look over at me, "He sounded embarrassed...~" I say, Akane laughing some in response. "Yea, has he confessed to you yet~?" She asks, making me look down some. "No...but it's fine..." I say, surprising them both. "Really...? I would've never thought! You two already look like your a couple." Nekomaru says with a laugh, my face growing red. Do...we really look like a couple...? Are we a couple and I just haven't realized it...? I don't know...I feel like we're still friends, but...at the same time it feels like we're in a relationship.

"Hey don't worry about it too much...he'll tell you when he's ready...~ I can tell that he obviously has feelings for you...~" Akane says reassuringly, Nekomaru nodding in agreement. She's right...I just have to give it time...I know that he'll tell me soon, but...what if he never does...? No I can't think that way...he'll definitely tell me...I know it...~ I feel my face blush again at the thought, making them both laugh at me, "Y'know at least you were a lot more confident in confessing your feelings to the person you love compared to Souda, he can't get two words out before clamming up~" Akane says, confusing me some. What's she talking about...? Who's he been trying to confess to...?

Before I could ask I hear Nekomaru's phone buzz, him picking it up to look at the message, "Okay they're at school...let's get going..." he says as he walks over and picks me up, confusing me some. "Wait...where are we going...? I thought we were staying here...?" I say, Akane shaking her head as she stands up. "We're heading to the cafe...partly because we want to know more information about what went on between you and the lackeys, but also because we thought you would want some time away from being cooped up here...~" she says with a grin.

Interesting...I...definitely wasn't expecting something like this to happen. She's not wrong though...It would be nice to spend some time out of the house, though at the same time I'm not sure if it's a good idea...plus Hajime would be pretty pissed if he found out I left somewhere. I debate back and forth with myself for a while before I speak up, "Alright, but what about Hajime...?" I ask curiously, making Akane sigh some. "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, let's just get going..." she says as she walks away.

As Nekomaru follows her with me, I sigh a bit. This is either gonna turn out fine...or something bad is gonna happen...all I know is that Hajime's gonna be pretty mad when he finds me missing.

Hajime's POV:

"Just a little longer Hajime..."

I sigh some as I hear Izuru, looking out the window. I wish school was over already so I can see Nagito, though...even when it is over I don't get to see him...I have to help Chiaki and Souda. Why can't they just do this themselves...why do I have to be here...? This is so annoying, but...if this will help me figure out more about everything that's going on...then I have no choice. I have to work together with them...plus...I promised Nagito that I would try to get along with them again...thinking about him I blush some. I wonder what he's doing right now...I hope he doesn't feel lonely without me...

After a little while longer the bell finally rings, signaling that school was over for the day.

"It's time...go find Chiaki and Souda."

I sigh some once I hear him and get up from my seat, looking towards the classroom door to see that Chiaki is...already there waiting for me. She looks...kinda excited. I don't know what's so exciting about this whole thing...it's more nerve wrecking then anything...whatever. I head over to her, taking a breath before speaking, "Let's get going, who knows how long we'll have till the lackeys get to the room..." I say, her nodding in agreement as she walks away.

As we get closer to the hideout we run into Souda, who's out of breath, "Sorry I'm late! I had to grab some stuff" he says with a carefree laugh, making me sigh some. This guy really ticks me off...why would Nagito protect him...? He doesn't even really know him...yet he risked his life to protect his...if he was Chiaki it would make sense, but...I tighten up my fists some. Why...?

Chiaki notices me, putting a hand on my shoulder, "Let's get going..." she says, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Oh uh...yea..." I say as I unclench my fists, taking a breath before I continue on. I can't let him distract me...I need to focus on the lackeys and finding out their plan. After a while longer we get to the hideout, noticing that the room is once again empty. It looks like the lackeys aren't here...they're lucky because if they were...they wouldn't be leaving here alive.

"Okay, let's look through all these papers to see if we can find out something..." Chiaki says as she walks over to the board and starts pulling papers and newspaper clippings off of it. They've collected a lot of information about this blood moon but...what does Izuru have to do with it...? Why did they need the necklace from Nagito...? I don't get it...I sigh some and start flipping through papers, stopping when I see an interesting diagram. "What's this...?" I say, making Chiaki look over at me.

"Did you find something...?" She asks as I walk over to her, handing her the paper. "There's this diagram...it has the moon, the necklace, and it looks like both a human and a werewolf..." I say, making her look down some. Why...does she look kinda upset...? "There's only one person who knows what this is about...and that person is why your here..." she says, surprising me some. What...?

"I see...so that's why she needed you..."

I grab my head when I hear Izuru again, starting to get a bit irritated. What does he mean...? He knows why...? Chiaki sighs some before she takes a breath and continues speaking, "Hajime...what we need...is to talk to Izuru..."
