"Among Roses" -A ZelkPvP Story- (Hanahaki Disease)

Chapter 21

Zelk's POV

Today's the day. The day for me to confess my feelings before it's too late. I sighed.

I had just finished cleaning up the huge rose petals and blood stains in my cramped bedroom. Meanwhile, I was thinking about how I should confess my feelings to Mega. Whether I should just straight up confront him and say it or just say it later. I coughed into my hand. Carefully, I threw the petals into the bin and then I went to quickly wash my hands...again. I didn't want anyone else but Darryl and Zak to know about my disease just yet-

While I was washing my hands-and questioning myself about life while coughing more petals-, I heard a loud knock coming from the bedroom door. Curious and confused, I headed towards the door. I checked to see whether my hair was covering the flower that was blooming through my eye. After checking, I grabbed the door knob and the heavy iron-bound door swung open.

"Look can't you just be patient and-" I started saying before looking up and realising who it was.

I gulped and quickly shut the door with a slam. It was Mega- I felt my breaths starting to get heavier as adrenaline floods my system. It pumps and beats like it's trying to escape. I felt and thought my heart would explode and my eyes are wide with fear. My body wants to either run fast for the safety of the hills or to the crate of weaponry, but instead I remain where I am. Let's face it, there is really only one thing I can do: overcome it. My adrenaline surges so fast I almost vomit, I can taste saliva and blood thickening in my throat and beads of sweat trickling down my brow as I coughed out more roses. But this time...they were bigger then before-

I took a deep breath. I guess I have to-

Mega's POV

I knocked on the door-hoping it was Zelk's room. I was holding my notepad in my left hand which said; "Hey Zelk, wanna hang out?" Soon, the door flung open-revealing a slightly shorter boy with a brown long-sleeved hoodie. It was Zelkie-

"AWWWW HE LOOKS SO CUTE-" One half of me said. On the other hand, the other half of me was yelling "Just. Friends." Well even though that was happening in my mind, I was still excited and glad to see him.

"Look can't you just be patient and,-" He said before looking up into my eyes. I showed him the writing in my notepad and all of a sudden, the door closes with a slam.

"What...-?..." I said in my head, "does he not want to hang out...with me?..."
"Does he not want to see me?"
"Did I do something wrong?"

My mind was racing with questions. That hurt my feelings. I sighed. "I just wanted to...see my Zelkie..." I whimpered sadly as I walked away from the door with arms crossed while looking down at my feet. Soon after...;

"Wait- Mega!" I heard someone called out.

I could recognised that voice anywhere. I turned around, spotting Zelk. He was running towards me and out of no where, he starts hugging me.

"I miss chuuuuu-" He said, still hugging me. I could feel my cheeks slowly heating up.
"Er...me too" I mumbled so only he could hear me. I was covering my face with my right hand to block the blush in my cheeks.
"Let's go then!" He said happily before grabbing my hand and dragging me downstairs.

I was relieved that Zelk still wanted to talk to me. Though there was something bothering me.

"Why is his voice so dry and rasped?"
