aimlessly, mingyu traipsed around the baggage claim area of hawaii's airport, biting his nails nervously. mingyu was supposed to get to work and find wonwoo, even just a glimpse of the raven haired man would be fine. but, his baggage was left in korea by the airline he picked to fly with.
9 hours until i get my baggage. fucking hell. what an inconvenience! he flew first class, and yet, here he is, being consoled by the airline with useless freebies because they left his baggage—but they won't be the one stuck here, eating from airport fastfood chains for 9 hours while a whole jeon wonwoo could be alive and kicking right out of this building!
"ugh." mingyu sighed, slumping on a chair in the waiting area. the poor guy hadn't even slept; he was busy watching interesting movies in the plane while snacking on nuts and champagne. "i bet i look tired. like when i took a selfie while me and my team were cramming everything at the due date." mingyu giggled a little.
mingyu was bored. he was very tempted to do something stupid or just lay down and sleep here on the airport's waiting area, showing off his slacker and disrespectful side. maybe he can approach the other people here and speak with them? tell some stories? meet hot people and hit on them?
after a while, a couple sat down beside the tall editor in distress (this is distressing, mingyu protests—if you ever call him overdramatic). "sollie, we're here for checking our new hotel, not relaxing. you brought snorkelling equipment and a dozen beach shorts!"
"hey, but i do recommend taking our time off for a while, 'cause well, fuck business. right kwan?"
"sollie, the reason we eat sixteen bowls of ramen every weekend is because of business."
sollie and kwan?! "seungkwan and vernon!" mingyu jolted up, bending a little to see the faces of the couple beside him. mingyu sighed in relief that it was, indeed, vernon and seungkwan. if it wasn't, embarrasment for mingyu.
"oh my god, mingyu-hyung! it's been a while! have you gotten any sleep?" vernon looks at mingyu up and down, while seungkwan laughs. mingyu rolled his eyes, being reminded of the airline-baggage fiasco.
"the airline left my baggage in korea, so here i am, waiting for nine hours 'til it arrives. yay! exciting!" mingyu shows the couple his jazz hands, making them laugh. "what are you here for?"
"oh, me and sollie became hoteliers," seungkwan says, latching on to his boyfriend. "we're here to visit one of our hotels in hawaii."
"congrats! i'm still a magazine editor," mingyu chuckles, rubbing his nape. "hope you two are doing well in business."
"thanks! how 'bout you? how you doin'?" seungkwan asked. "what brings you here?"
mingyu gulped. they're going to look at me weird for this one. should he say it?
mingyu was so tempted to lie, because he knew vernon and seungkwan won't believe. but mingyu still said the truth anyway. "minseok sent me a code, and i'm in hawaii to go check something regarding it."
"oh, minseok?" vernon and seungkwan look at each other by instinct, mingyu shakes his head when he notices this movement. "isn't minseok in china?"
"i don't know, that's what yachi told me. she was—ah, nevermind. it's quite a long story." mingyu smiles, leaning back to his seat. but seungkwan was a little too pushy for his own good. the guy loved gossips, second to vernon.
