everyone had to be drunk on something, to keep going in life. what was wonwoo drunk on? does he have a dream? no, he doesn't. does he want to obtain something, like power? maybe, but he's fine with all that he has right now.what might it be?
does wanting to protect a certain group of people count? wonwoo is not totally all in for protecting his teammates who, he did not even want to believe at first, but that was something that ignites sparks inside him.
it's like he was useless all along. he was given a good ability, but he doesn't have any goal in his life, so how could he keep on?
"do you think we should retreat?" chan asks, looking at the monstrous amount of land and properties that were destroyed. "i don't think we stand a chance at all."
"we haven't even met the shitty one who's behind all this." joshua states, taking some equipment as he steps into the light. he doubts that anyone could shoot them and see them from this height; the rooftop of the highest building left standing.
unless they're on an aircraft.
"you initiated this, yet you're the first to say to retreat?" mingyu asked chan, in disbelief. "wonwoo, you know where he is?"
"what are we doing this for?"
the three turned their heads to wonwoo's direction. "what do you mean? earlier, you said that you didn't want to die, so—"
"maybe it's okay to die. i don't have anything to live for anyway," wonwoo replied, brushing invisible dust off from his shoulders. "but i'll help you, since you have something to live for. don't hesitate to leave me if i become dead weight."
none of them spoke. chan wanted to address the current issue, but mingyu, who chan thought would speak up first, didn't say anything. chan lost courage.
"incoming!" joshua yelled, immediately making an illusion to prevent themselves from being in the enemy's peripheral vision. the three stood up and looked down, to see a couple of people in white fighting off people who undeniably had the upper hand in the duel.
"those are koushi's people," mingyu informs, squinting to look at the familiar white uniform that he saw koushi enforce upon his employees. "what is he thinking?! combat can't defeat abilities!"
"sometimes, it does," joshua says, looking back at wonwoo. "what now? you're in charge of making the plan."
"we're helping koushi's people. mingyu, can you do something about our flight down the stairs?" wonwoo asks, and mingyu quickly scribbled words on his notebook. the man turns the paper into wire guns.
"wire guns? what if it gets tangled?" chan asked, picking up two as the others got ready to jump down.
"it won't. just use it like how you use harnesses in ziplines." joshua replied, before shooting the wire gun and jumping down. the wire guns supported him and prevented his death from jumping from such a tall height. the three follow, even if chan was a bit scared.
easily, wonwoo knocked yi-eun's men out of their feet using his gravity ability, and chan touched each one as mingyu injured them one by one to assure that they won't be able to move in a few hours, and joshua provided an illusional barrier so they won't draw attention from the enemies.
