the eleven other members of seventeen crowded around joshua, who was plugging the usb into a computer. that usb seokmin smuggled, yes. seungcheol got in a little bit of trouble for seokmin trespassing, but seungcheol thinks that it was worth it."uh, so, do you see what's in the usb yet?" seokmin asks, pulling out a lollipop from a black plastic bag. "i'm curious."
"patience, grasshopper," joshua replied. he pressed 'enter', and the contents of the usb spilled all over the screen. "there."
"contractual agreement. pledis mafia, w systems, fukuro mafia." jeonghan reads out loud, for the ones who can't see from behind. "article one. the recipients must support and help w systems with the company's proposed and approved new world order."
"okay, so they're having some sort of collab, but we need to know what that new world order shit is." jihoon says, pointing at the screen. joshua nods, exiting the file to find the said proposal.
"that's why i think they abducted jinha."
"oh, they're bitches." seungcheol fumed. chan softly pats seungcheol's back to soothe him a little. "o-oh, thanks, channie."
at the simple interaction, seungkwan's gossip squad—mingyu, seungkwan, minghao and jeonghan— shared knowing looks. not one of the two men on the hot seat noticed seungkwan and friends sharing funny looks, though.
"hmm. new world order. it just simply says what koushi told us about what w systems wants to do. kill normal people and stuff." jeonghan explained. joshua is quite impressed that jeonghan was able to summarize the whole proposal in 2 minutes. proud husband.
"anyway, we got rid of pledis mafia, and taking down w systems is not our duty. it's koushi's, since w systems is based in los angeles." seungcheol declares. "all we need is wonwoo."
the eleven other men agreed with seungcheol. they don't really have the energy to fight a whole villain organization and risk someone's life again.
"i wonder what happened to wonwoo after the satellite incident." junhui spoke. "what if the whole 'going against my boss' thing is a part of a plan?"
nobody could answer. nobody knows the answer.
"ah, anyway," mingyu spoke, standing up. "i have to go out today to check on yachi. don't let junhui touch the kitchen, alright?"
"hello?" wonwoo grumbled lowly, walking out of the airport. wonwoo wonders who called—the number is from korea, and he just bought this new burner phone. probably yi-eun or a w systems member. "who's this?"
"boss knows you're in korea," a woman spoke. wonwoo was not very familiar with this woman, but he knows that she is a spy that yi-eun placed in korea. boss? she's definitely talking about yi-eun. "why are you here?"
"to lay low. but you guys already found me." wonwoo replied, walking to the bus terminal. this spy was getting in wonwoo's nerves. her voice is all smug and mighty! spies in w systems don't have abilities, so that means wonwoo is in a higher rank than her. "aren't i fired?"
"you don't get fired just like that. you have to die." the spy says, following it with a chuckle. it sounded like she was trying to mock wonwoo. "come meet me in my office. you'll know where."
wonwoo lifted his phone from his ear and looked at the number. "why should i meet you?"
"i know who you really are, don't you want clues?" she giggles. wonwoo rolled his eyes. "anyway, to save you from the trouble, i'm going to send my company's address. sounds good?"
"pull any kind of joke and i'll kill you." wonwoo says, dropping the call. almost immediately, he recieved the text that states the spy's address.
wonwoo walks inside the bus with the other commoners. undeniably, he is a little bit scared. the spy could have a full death squad with her in her company right now, waiting for wonwoo to come so they could kill him. wonwoo is good at bullets, but what if they use electricity—which wonwoo can't manipulate with his ability.
or, surprise, the spy might be an ability user.
wonwoo is sure that he could outsmart her, though. at the least, wonwoo is confident about his fight tactics. he is also good at brain games. he can beat people in their own games, he can lure people in their own traps.
after a while, wonwoo drops off at a humongous press building. "she's an undercover spy working in a magazine press? 'hallyu monthly'? really?" wonwoo huffed, humoured by how low this spy is.
"welcome to hallyu monthly, sir, do you have any appointments today?" the woman at the desk asked, while wonwoo just looked at her blankly. "oh, are you the editor's guest?"
wonwoo nods. the receptionist gave wonwoo an id that read 'guest', and nods at him. "top floor, sir. have a nice day."
"i'll have a nice day." wonwoo mutters to himself, going to the fire exit stairs. he lessens the gravitational pull in the staircase, letting wonwoo walk to the highest floor with ease.
wonwoo ignores the eyes on him once he reached the top floor, directly going to the office with the biggest doors. he pushes the doors open, and scans the room for the female spy.
"ah," wonwoo chuckled, turning to his right. "you're a mundane." wonwoo cocks his head towards the gun that the spy held, aimed at wonwoo.
"i'm tasked to kill you." the spy says, and wonwoo raises an eyebrow.
"are you sure?" wonwoo points his index at her. wonwoo slowly puts his index down, manipulating the gravitational pull around the spy to make her put the gun down. "you are tasked to kill me, but you are not capable of it."
"yi-eun wouldn't choose me if i am incapable."
"oh, eat shit," wonwoo glances at the spy's office table, to find out what her name is. "ahn yachi."
"you eat shit too, wonwoo. why did you dare to oppose yi-eun? that was the biggest massacre plan we've had in a year! that could've been a big success if you didn't stop it!" yachi growls. wonwoo releases yachi, and the spy took that as an opportunity to walk closer to wonwoo and aim her gun accurately at him.
"because i like gelato." wonwoo simply replied, unfazed by yachi's actions.
"and you even worked with an agent from seoul's supernatural division! i think that's the main reason why yi-eun feels so betrayed by you." yachi grunted at wonwoo, like he's the filthiest person in this whole universe.
"oh, so you didn't know?" a new voice came. the two turns to look at the door, yachi's gun still aimed at wonwoo. "you didn't know that you were working with the same agent that he worked with?"
mingyu cocked his head towards wonwoo. yachi's eyes widened, staring at her previous boss. mingyu, however, took out his notebook and wrote on it. he rips the page off, and it turns into a gun.
"aw, yachi. you should have been more careful."
