Samus stepped into her gunship and wasted no time taking off into orbit to rendezvous with the galactic federation fleet that were making final preparations. She had never seen so many capital ships before and at the same time it brought back memories of her final days in the federation army. She flew ahead of all of the frigates and remained stationary as she input the coordinates for SR388. Reluctantly she felt the need to do... something, and so she opened a comlink with the rest of the fleet.
"My name is Samus Aran. I was born into a cruel and unforgiving universe that ripped my world and my family away from me before I was barely a toddler. It was this same cruel event that showed me that the universe has goodness and compassion in it. As you all are vividly aware, I was adopted and raised by the chozo on planet Zebes before that too was also ripped away from me. I have learned over the years to keep to myself in order to protect others but also for my own sanity . I have seen so many untold horrors and yet I'm always reminded by the end of it all that there is a good worth fighting for, that not everything is heartless and cruel. Despite my troubled youth I've seen civilisations possess joy and happiness and bliss, I have seen all that is allowed to exist as long as the darkness is kept at bay. But once again that is about to fade away, not just for me , but for the whole galaxy. We are facing an enemy threat that is far beyond any space pirate , AI or other militant threat, An enemy that has the means to deploy countless more. This is the threat that wants to take everything away from us. To create an existence of undead, joyless zombies. I will not allow this. This may very well be too much even for me but regardless it is something I must do, do.... alone. I'm not afraid of the likelihood of my failure because there's no time to focus on that, and I believe you all will make the right call about what to do when I return in whatever shape I'm in. This is more than just a fight for freedom or an end to tyranny , it's a fight for the very protection of life itself. Right now we are all gathered together, the largest fleet galactic civilisation has ever put forth. There will be tremendous losses in this fight. The vast majority of you will die, but just know that you'll be going down preventing your sworn enemies from spreading this infection. You all are the real saviours in this crisis and I want you to know that despite my reserved and isolated nature, ... I am honoured that you are putting everything on the line for this, the greatest mission of them all.
Now let's end this"
With those words said Samus pulled the thrusters and zoomed away to meet her fate.
