After walking for several miles the ice slowly gave way to barren rock and a large area that looked like it had been ripped apart by an earthquake. She was approaching the source of the second signal that told the pirates to stay away from the planet. She entered a cave and in the middle was generator with five rotating claw like edges on top . Flickering red wires travelled down and along the ground. Samus jumped out into open and killed two unsuspecting pirates , then rolled along the ground and got to her feet. Pirates all around the cave pointed their weapons at her and before she or they could make a move a weak mechanical voice spoke in the pirate language and most of them hesitantly lowered their weapons. However two armed troopers resisted and raised their retractable cannons at Samus. Two shots came from a tunnel behind them and they fell to the ground in a bloody mess.
A shape moved within the dark tunnel and walked slowly out of the darkness. It's three pronged metal legs making its presence boom across the cave. Out of the darkness stepped weavel! His visor fully repaired since their last encounter and his hands held behind his back in a manner that almost seemed polite. Samus suspiciously kept her weapon aimed at him and watched closely for signs of x infection.
"So your the one who sent the second signal? I thought you would have surrendered and joined your mighty leader"
Weavel shook his head in response and walked around Samus.
"Let me guess, after your transformation you were used and disrespected by those you once commanded? That's why you became a bounty hunter!" Realisation dawned upon Samus after the words left her lips.
"Since Ridley was still respected and you weren't I assume that's the only reason you warned the pirates about the x parasites. You don't care about them you only care about preventing Ridley from achieving any goals he might have. Huh who knew we would have a common goal. These pirates seem to follow your command and since you're not attacking me and are probably the only few survivors on the planet I'm going to be fair"
She lowered her weapon slowly and the pirates around the cave whispered among themselves in shock.
"You were never my main enemy Weavel , despite your constant attempts to kill me I've only seen you as an inconvenience. My rivalry is only with Ridley and since we now have a common enemy and both have the capability to handle ourselves I suggest a truce .. Atleast temporarily. I am not a merciless monster and unlike the space pirates I just want the safety and security of civilisation but I presume you also don't want the x to spread beyond this planet. With my assistance you have a greater chance of survival and we both might get to leave this planet alive when this is all done."
Weavel let his hands return to his sides and looked at his men . They all began to argue and bicker among themselves but weavel simply looked at the floor before walking over to a computer terminal and standing beside it.
"One more thing. If you or your men even make one single wrong move I will kill every single one of you and leave no trace for the x. I said I'm not a monster but I'm also not one who generally trusts the organisation that destroyed my world , regardless if you are here or not . I'm only trusting you now weavel, because I know you can quickly help me to locate Ridley "
Samus hesitantly walked up to the computer terminal and placed her cannon on an open slot. Her cannon opened at the front and the computer began downloading data from her cannon. She stepped away as the pirates gathered around the computer.
"This is the only weapon that can kill the x instead of a metroid. I'm sure you can duplicate that data however many times you need. "
Weavel opened a slot on his left arm and Samus scanned it. It was a memory databank that contained a map of a large chunk of the northern hemisphere in great detail.
"Samus Aran this truce exists only so long as it's beneficial to both of us. Once it's over I will get the revenge I deserve and I will make you suffer. Mark my words "
Samus raised an eyebrow in surprise and sighed.
