After hours of trekking through caves of ruins of all shapes and sizes Samus was now finally reaching the location of the largest x cluster on her map and the source of the original signal sent into space. She stepped out from a small tunnel into a large cavern under what appeared to be a frozen lake . Ice covered most of the cavern. She was standing on the edge of a chasm with only two broken pieces of rock extending up from the abyss below, to guide her across. She made her away across to the other side and was now on a steep incline upwards. At the top was a large plateau with a small hole in the center. The hole was just big enough for Samus to fit through in morph ball and so she braced herself and morphed into a ball. She rolled down the hole and into the hollow interior of the plateau, she fell for about a mile before hitting the ground. She groaned as she got out of ball form. Her suit had taken. 4 energy tanks of damage from that fall.
She looked around and saw that she was in an area that almost resembled some sort of arena. Walls of ice lined the entire area about 35 feet off the ground and she could see no way out.
A weak familiar squeal made itself known to Samus. She turned around and spotted the container holding the baby metroid lying on the ground toward the frozen wall. She quickly ran over to it and was about to pick it up when a section of the wall rumbled and came loose . The colour of it changed to reveal a camouflaged creature curled up against the wall. The creature was none other than her eternal rival Ridley!
Ridley's colour changed to a brown and decayed colour and his burned a bright yellow. As he walked out from his where he was hiding , Samus could see a passageway behind him . Ridley walked toward her and then swiped his right arm at the container sending it rolling a few feet away . Samus aimed her cannon at his head but then noticed 4 pirates entering the arena from behind him. A power trooper, a wave trooper, a plasma trooper and an ice trooper. Ridley flew up and hovered in the air as the infected pirates surrounded him from all sides. Samus looked at them all confused. Ridley screeched and each of the pirates slowly became shapeless and featureless as their bodies gave way to the x parasites within. One red , one blue , one purple , one orange. Each of them flew up and merged with Ridley , his skin quickly shifted between the four colours and then back to his standard colour.
"Morphology: Ridley X . Reborn and re enhanced due to infection, Ridley is now more powerful than ever and has even absorbed the beam weapons of several space pirates into himself allowing him to switch between them at will."
"You killed my family, destroyed my home, and I destroyed you. You came back and I killed you for good. I'm not afraid anymore, I'm conquered the monster that has caused me so much grief. All you are is a shallow empty imitation of the true ridley.... and you'll meet the same fate."
Ridley grabbed Samus and flew upward . Samus jumped out from his claws and grabbed onto his neck, shooting rapidly at his mouth which forced him to turn all the way around. She lost her grip and fell back to the ground. Ridley spat multiple fireballs at her and jabbed his tail toward her . She boosted to the other side of the arena and shot missiles at him but they proved to be little more than a nuisance as he landed back on the ground unscathed. His skin changed to red and he swung his tail in a circle sending a wave of plasma toward her. The plasma hit her before she could avoid it and twisted around as the heat burned away at her suit. She leapt into the air and he grabbed her and threw her to the ground infront of him . He grabbed her in his jaws but she managed to aim her cannon into his mouth and shoot him a dozen times before he screamed and dropped her, his colour changed rapidly between all 4 which seemed to cause him distress. He slammed his hands on the ground sending out a shockwave that knocked Samus onto her back . He charged at her and grabbed her with left arm and repeatedly smashed her into the ground. At this point she was dazed and confused , barely able to retaliate as he wailed on her over and over again. He stopped slamming her and then grabbed both hands into a fist and smashed them onto her back with full force . She screamed and a grin crept along ridleys face as he overpowered his rival .
