When Samus warped out of hyperspace she was in a nebula with the fleet.
"This is Samus Aran.. it's over "
"Samus this is Admiral Dane. I've seen some remarkable things in my career but what you just did makes everything else unremarkable. I think I speak for everyone when I say we're all speechless. All I can say is .. how?"
"The Chozo already had a contingency plan in place in case the x parasites were ever going to return. They built a weapon that would destroy the planet once activated. Unless there were any ships that left the planet than I think it's pretty safe to say we definitely will never be seeing the x ever again "
"We lost 90% of our ships in that battle Samus. The cost for this is going to be ridiculous. Any moment longer and we wouldn't have been able to hold them off. None of the ships reported vessels that escaped the battle. Two ships tried leaving the planet at one point but they were destroyed effectively. Honestly I can't believe it, in the blink of an eye the greatest crisis galactic society has ever faced is over . You are truly something else"
"I do have some bad news though. I was unable to rescue the baby.. the metroids are really gone this time. So we're lucky the x didn't survive "
"Regrettable but ultimately for the better. metroids are just as dangerous as x. I know you might have felt some attachment to it but just remember the whole reason you went there in the first place."
"I know admiral . And I can confirm for the record that the mission was completed. Planet SR388 was destroyed and all x parasites have been purged. My long standing nemesis , Ridley has also met his final end. The previous mission is now by default complete too. The metroids are extinct."
"I don't know if you can hear but everyone over here is cheering right now. I do have to remind you about your previous arrangement for when you return from SR388."
"I haven't forgotten. I'll dock with the GFS Olympus immediately and you can set up the containment field. Better safe than sorry"
"You are clear to land "
Samus flew toward the Olympus and landed in a docking bay . Weavel quietly moved toward the cockpit but the seat turned and Samus pointed her cannon at him. "You saved my life and I saved yours but don't try your luck. I'm fully aware you intend to kill me at your earliest convenience now that our alliance is over but it's not happening. Your going to be taken into custody for your attacks on federation ships throughout your time as a commander and as a bounty hunter. "
Suddenly a turret descended from the ceiling outside and fired an electrical pulse . The blast went through the gunship and Samus and weavel were both knocked unconscious. As her concentration faded and her suit deactivated, the metroid suit suddenly turned into a swirling mass of energy which flew away from her body and landed on the ground, exploding in a bright light leaving a modular disc in its place with the same colour as the metroid suit.
The hatch descended and then ascended as two federation soldiers boarded the ship. One of them bent down and picked up the disc while the other one nudged weavel to make sure he was unconscious.
"We have what we need. Take the two of them, I have a feeling the pirate will be more useful than we initially expected."
As the other soldier walked over to Samus , the one holding the disc examined it closely.
"HQ is going to be delighted when we show them this"
