Friend And Foe

When she eventually regained consciousness she saw that she was being held in the air by chains that tied to the walls from her limbs. Her suit had been deactivated when her concentration was broken after the attack. She was now exposed to whatever threat was about to make itself known.

She was in a pirate base , one that was presumably built when the pirates first came to the planet during her previous mission.  4 pirate militias approached her and she could tell they had been infected. She struggled against her restraints but to no avail.  The pirates chuckled to themselves, for even though they were dead and infected, the x had gained the same sadistic sense of humour and intention.  One of them came up close to her and kicked her forcefully in the stomach causing her to groan and lurch forward.  The other two then raised their arm rifles and prepared to fire at her. She began to panic and tug at the chains harder .

Something hit the three pirates in the head and they all fell down. More pirates sprinted out of the shadows giving each other orders as they too began to be fired upon. From behind a pile of crates a few feet from where she was being held, Weavel and his group of pirates charged forth , attacking the infected without any mercy.  The x began to abandon their hosts and attempt to infect the intruders but were repelled by the annihilator beam they have been given earlier.

Weavel walked up to Samus and stopped a few inches from her, plotting his next move. If he decided to take his revenge on her now she would be defenceless. He lifted her chin up with his scythe and placed it against her throat.

"If your going to kill me just get it over with. But good luck surviving against the rest of your enemies here without me." Samus spat in frustration.  Weavel proceeded to break the chains and set her free, she instantly activated the x suit as she hit the floor. She stood up and stared at him for a while before her attention then switched to the hoards of infected that were coming at them.  Together the two hunters charged forth and tore their way through all who would dare try to harm them. Weavel split into the halfturret and lacerated his opponents with his upper half as the turret dispatched the parasites with rapid shots of the annihilator beam.  Samus fires multiple missiles at different targets simultaneously, making short work of them.  Her head spun to the left as she spotted a blue X make its way toward Weavel who had his back turned to it.  Samus killed it instantly and made her way over to him , protecting him from behind as he tore through the corpses of his former allies. 

When the last of the infected was dealt with Weavel reattached to his torso and walked back toward Samus while his troops surrounded him.  She eyed each of them suspiciously, wondering what they were planning next , would they kill her now? Or were they looking for her to lead them to Ridley and the baby?  Weavel eyed her up and down seemingly studying her new armour upgrade. He turned to walk away but suddenly turned back again to swipe at her head. She had anticipated this move and folded into the morph ball, boosting into his legs and knocking him over in retaliation.  The pirates instantly began shooting at her but she did not fire back for fear of killing them and letting their bodies become prime targets for the x.  Weavel charged at her in halfturret form , letting out a mechanical screech as his upper half dragged itself with burning vengeance toward her as she continued to roll away. She emerged from ball form and threw a crate in the air with the grapple beam right as weavel leapt upward, he smashed through it and landed on his arms only to discover that Samus had disappeared. He looked around furiously and screamed in disbelief.   He crawled back to his lower body and refused to look at any of his comrades , they all knew that they had blown their one opportunity to kill their enemy and steal her new armour. They would not get another chance.
