Naina POV

I walked into the office building and I could feel people staring at me. Some were giving pointed stares while some just gave me a teasing grin. Can the earth just swallow me?

I went in and started doing my work. After about 3 hours I got a ping from Agastya asking me to come to his room.

I don't know why I feel nervous now, my palms started sweating. Why should I be nervous ? Why should I be awkward?

Yes I know the answer because from now on whenever I look at him I would remember the kiss, I would remember the snuggles, I would remember his hand on my thigh.

Focus Naina !!

I went in and saw him seriously talking to one of our clients. He had his serious no non-sense business face on. Like I don't have any effect on him. Like he could be all decent and professional while I have butterflies in my stomach.

He gestured me to sit down on the chairs laid out near his desk and I sat down. After a while he got off the phone and took an envelope from his desk. He gestured me to open it. What is happening ?

Wait what is he up to ?

I opened the letter and it says he is firing me

He is firing me ??? 

I got up from the chair and rudely pushed it back because it gave out a loud nice on the wooden floor. I went towards the door to run to the washroom first but then looked back at him. He had his smirk on his face. I walked up to him to slap him or punch his grin off but reminded myself I was a professional. I put my fingers into a tight fist to not injure him so I moved to and fro in front of his desk trying to form words.

Me: Why would you do this Agastya ? What the fuck is this? 

Agastya: Well !! Is that swearing I hear

Me: Yes, anyways I am fired so I don't care. How could you do this? I know maybe because your damn ego couldn't take no for an answer or you didnt have any more patience left in you to wait anymore isn't it? You wanted instant answer but you had to do all this gestures which didnt suit you isn't it ? That is why your firing me ? Because I cannot think of an other reason. If you think I ll say yes so that you would hire me back, that would be in your dreams mister.

Agastya looked at me with a smirk. He was trying hard not to laugh on me but was failing. He gave me an other envelope. I opened it and what I saw surprised me to the core.

Dear Ms. Naina Mathur,

It is pleasure to inform you that you are promoted and will be working with our resorts as an interior designer from now on. Seeing your back ground in Arts and your interest in interior designing this would be an easy transition for you. Before you take up the position which you would be reporting in two months you would be required to take some courses. The details of the course is attached and you could join them from next week.

I looked at him and he had a proud smile on his face. He did this for me ??

I ran to him and gave him a big hug out of excitement. I must have jumped on him but he didnt care about it in fact he caught me and now my feet were not on floor. As soon as he held me close I kissed him on the cheek and enjoyed the feeling of being in his arms but I realised something.

Me: Agastya, if you are doing it out of obligation don't do it. I don't want to take any favors from anyone.

Him: This was what I was afraid off, look you are efficient and hardworking. You are punctual, organized and empathetic. I can see you are creative by how you have organized your small apartment into a warm and cozy place. You have the skills Naina and I want you to use it. I didnt ask you to join directly, you have to do the courses, get the certification. Once you get that we will reimburse you for the fee you paid to take it. It is not a favor, don't think less of you okay?

He said all this with his hand on my cheek like I was a little kid. I nodded my head obidiently.

Him: Now its vacation time for you, relax till evening and I have someplace we have to go. 

Me: Where are we going ?

Him: That is a surprise, oh I know these stupid employees of mine might taunt you, tease you and comment on you. Ignore them, this is one of the reasons too, I didnt want them to be after you. I don't want them to upset you. I know they said all these unkind words in some blogs about you being a gold digger, which you are not and I could clearly see that. I know you are not after my money because I can recognise a gold digger when I see one. So don't feel like you are using me okay? People do nice things for people who they care about okay ? In the end all I want for you is to be happy in every way possible.

I nodded my head like an obedient thing again. I know I annoy him by rejecting his idea of pampering me but I guess I have to change a bit otherwise he will find different ways and reasoning to gift me. He is not going to stop. I guess I have to compromise on this aspect.I wish he isn't that dominating always. I wish he compromises somewhere too like believing in love.

He chuckled looking at my pout and hugged me to him. He stroked my hair smoothly

Him: You know I can actually see your face and read your emotions. Watsup, what is bothering you ?

Me: Agastya, I know all you want to do is keep me happy and I get why you want to pamper me so I would compromise with that. I could try to accept small sweet gestures from you but what about you, would you ever make a compromise or will it always be me because you could be a bit bossy when you want things to go your way.

Him: Naina if something is important for you, I will compromise on that. I wanted to gift you a car when I saw you taking a bus here but I stopped myself. I wanted to spend on your shopping spree but didn't. I liked to take you to the costly places but I know you hate them. So I compromised now I am happy giving you these little surprises and doing sweet gestures for you so please don't say no to them okay ?

I smiled as a response

Me: I cant guarantee anything but I can try 

Looking at his expression my smile turned to a grin
