Everything was going wrong on this quest.
We had no idea where Percy or Luke was. Our only lead was that Luke loved Percy and had hidden him in the woods. Annabeth and Thalia were freaking out- especially Annabeth- and Nico had shown up completely heartbroken.
To top it all off a gigantic scorpion was attacking us.
"Annabeth left, Thalia right, Silena and I in front! Stab on my mark!" Nico yelled. We all did as we were told. Annabeth ran to the left while Thalia ran to right. Nico looked at me and ran with me close behind him.
I looked over to Nico. "I'm really sorry that he's gone. I know you love him alot." I said.
Nico glared at me. "I don't know what you're talking about." Was all he said. Nico looked up at the scorpion. "Now!" He screeched. All at once we all stabbed the scorpion with our assortment of weapons.
The scorpion wailed and shrieked as it exploded into dust.
Nico looked at me. "Alright good luck." He said as he back into the shadows. I grabbed his arms. "Are you going back to camp?" I asked. Nico looked at me like that was the dumbest thing I could have said to him. "No."
I frowned. "Come talk with me in private." I said.
Nico groaned but followed me nonetheless. Once we got far enough away from the others Nico glared at me. "What Silena." He said. I shuffled a bit. "Since you're not going back to camp you should stay with us." I said.
Nico stared at me. "No. No way. I don't do quests." He said.
I scoffed. "Please you were by yourself in Daedalus's Labrinth. You killed Minos and inherited his name 'Ghost King'. I said.
Nico just glared at me. "And if I just leave now? You gonna stop me?" He sneered. I glared at him. "I can't stop you right now. And that's why I'm sorry about this." I said. Before he could register what I said I charmspeaked him.
"You want to stay here with us." I charmed.
Nico repeated what I'd said. "You do quests." I continued. Nico's head snapped up. "No I don't." He said. I cursed. "Silena. I am going to fucking kill you." He yelled. I flinched a bit. "I'm sorry. Don't kill me." I said.
Nico glared at me. "Why shouldn't I." He said.
He was so calm it was scary.
"Because I'm your friend?" I tried. Nico scoffed. "Percy, Annabeth, Beckendorf, and the Stolls are my only friends." He said. I frowned. "I'm so sorry Nico." I said. Nico just scoffed. "I don't need any more friends. You can't trust people." He said.
I just shook my head. "Maybe I could be your friend." I said.
Nico frowned. "What are you trying to punish me?" He asked. That hurt my feelings a bit. Nico seemed to notice that because he softened a bit. "I'm sorry I didn't mean that. I just don't like being around people." He said.
I pouted. "Oh well. I just hoped there'd be a little room for me. That's okay. Go. I'll just sit here wondering what I could have done for you to dislike me so much." I said.
Nico groaned. "Now I feel bad." He said.
I just pouted.
"Alright I'll stay! Just stop pouting." He said. I looked at him. "Swear on the Styx." I demanded Nico groaned. "I swear on the Styx to help you on this quest." I looked at him. "Great! Let's go tell the others." I said. Nico groaned. "Fine." He said. I walked off with Nico trailing behind. Annabeth looked over at us. "What were you guys talkng about?" She asked.
