Epilogue
Tim survived. The stab wound wasn't that deep, but had penetrated into his stomach and caused some serious damage, which the doctors patched all up with their thread and needles and magic drugs. He stayed in the hospital for a few weeks and I never left his side other than leaving for brief shower and bathroom breaks. One of the nurses had taken pity on me and gotten me one of those uncomfortable cots that I set up right next to Tim's hospital bed. During the night, we would clasp hands and although it wasn't the most comfortable thing for me when the cot was shorted than Tim's bed, I couldn't sleep without feeling him and making sure that he was still with me and would never leave.
During Tim's hospital stay, many police officers and investigators came to talk to Tim about what happened the night Tim killed his father and he explained the entire story.
After dropping me off at Lauren's house, he had gone home and waited for his mother and father to come back home. When they did, Tim's dad got really pissed that Tim had left early and never came back and started to yell and then Tim intervened and said that he wasn't going to marry Monica. That just sent Mr. Lenoir completely off the wall. He went for Tim and slapped him across the cheek and told him that he had no choice, but Tim kept saying no. He kept shouting that he loved me and not Monica. So, a big fight broke out and Tim's dad took out a kitchen knife and went to cut his neck, but Tim had ducked and ended up getting cut on the side face instead. Tim got so angry that he punched his father and then, Mr. Lenoir took the knife and plunged it into Tim's stomach, not getting it in deep enough to completely disable Tim from fighting and he ended up taking the knife out of his body and stabbing his father twenty seven times in the chest, which- as you can imagine- killed Mr. Kyle Lenoir: rich business man, former football star, and jack ass father.
The police believed Tim and what really closed the case was the confession of Mrs. Lenoir, Tim's mother. She told the police that her husband had always been abusive towards her children and that Tim was only using self defense when he killed his father. Tim was free from all charges and didn't even need to go to court or anything. It was great.
It was the day Tim was finally getting released from the hospital. I watched as Tim slowly got out of his bed for the first time in weeks and got to his feet with help from a nurse. He smiled and looked up at me. "Not to bad, eh, Shmoopie?"
"Not at all, Timmy Bear," I said back, smiling back at him.
Tim looked so much better. All his bruises were fading to a dull yellow and the gash on the side of his face was all sewed up and only a thin, red scar was visible. His eyes were back to their effervescent blue and his cocky smirk was reglued to his lips. I was so happy to have the old Tim back. At the beginning of senior year, I would never imagine that I would be saying something like that about yucky Timothy Lenoir who whored around and was a heartbreaker, but now that I knew Tim for real, I knew that he was an honest, good person and not only a pretty face. He loved me and I loved him and nothing would ever change that. Not abusive fathers or whore models. We could handle anything as long as we were together.
