Subject A-8 The Lover (A newt fanfic)

The beginning

Newt POV

After I see Gally and Bailey kiss I couldn't believe it but after when we were all being separated I knew that I loved her, I loved Bailey, I guess I knew I loved her when I let her go. We were being taken by men dressed in black suits and I heard Bailey calling my name so I started to call her's back. Before I was totally consumed into darkness I heard her cry out four words,

"I love you Newt!" I kept those words with me as I was complete gone. I wondered what was going to happen next, will we really be put into another bloody maze? With no memories of this one? I finally wake up and see a bunch of people with white lab coats operating on me. Next to me I saw an unconscious Bailey also being operated on, I reach out my hand and try to grab her's which was limped over the side of the operating table.

"Bailey, I love you too." I whisper to her knowing that she wouldn't hear it. She was being taken away and I started screaming. She can't leave me! When she wakes up she will forget me and everything we had, and so will I. The people stop working on me so I quickly write a note to myself and put it in my pocket. I feel dizzy and drift off into a deep sleep. I wake up yet again in a box not remembering anything but my name which was Newt. The box stops and I see two people hovering above me, a girl and a boy. The girl smirks at me, she has dark brown hair that goes up past her shoulders and a very thin face. The boy has the same color hair as the girl but a rounder much nicer looking face. He jumps down and reaches out his hand.

"Hi greenie, my names Thomas and that's Teresa welcome to the glade. She fold her arms and waits impatiently for me to get up and hop out of the box. I look at myself and check some pockets that I had in my hoodie and pants. I found a piece of paper and slowly open it. Thomas takes it, reads it, and looks up at Teresa. I grab the note and read it,

'Newt, I am writing because your memories are going to be erased. Okay let me tell you some things to help you, first this is your second time in the maze, next you might notice a limp because you tried to kill yourself by jumping off the maze, finally you have a true love named Bailey. Try to get her to remember you and good luck.' The note finishes and I wonder who wrote it. Who is this Bailey? Did I really love her? I look at Thomas who has mysteriously disappeared with Teresa. I jump out of the box and look at where I was, the first thing that hits me is the bright sun shining down on us. I notice that this place is completely deserted except for me, Thomas and Teresa. I try yo find then when I run into a giant wall. Where the heck am I?

Bailey's POV

I see Newt in the new maze from where I was being held with the rest of the boys and my sister from the maze.

"Poor Newt." I hear Minho say. I look away from the screen with tears rushing down my face. I need to get to him but when I do I won't remember him. The door opens up very quickly and Ms. Ava Paige comes in,

"Hello everyone. I hope that you enjoyed watching your "friends" not remember anything. So you know the routine that every month someone new gets sent up but there is a twist. The order will go boy, girl, boy, girl. So hopefully a boy find find a new girl attractive. Finally, who gave Newt that note?!" She asks harshly. We all look at each other and shakeout heads. Suddenly the red alarm is going off indicating a new person has to go in. I see a small girl go in that looks like me, shit that's my sister! If she is told to act like she is me then Newt will fall for her, that can't happen so I run off trying yo get to the griever hole so I can see him.

"Bailey?! Where are you going?" I hear Chuck ask me. I turn around to glimpse at him and I keep running. I need to get to Newt with my memories no matter what it takes. I look next to me and see all the other gladers running with me.

"We need to warn them and get you too Newt." I see Minho say while smiling. It's great to know that I have great friends to help me out. I slow down and notice that Gally and Alby stayed behind, I stare at Gally and he smirks. I keep running until we reach the tunnel, and there awaiting us is a group of the same thing that tried to kill us in the last maze,

Grievers and Teresa was standing in front of them.
