Jimin opened the glass door to the shower and turned it on. While he waited for the water to warm up, he looked under the cabinet that Y/N had mentioned and pulled out a towel. He hung it on the silver rod next to the shower then checked the temperature of the water. Deciding it was perfect, Jimin stripped down, dropping his dirty bloodstained clothes on the floor before opening the glass door and stepping in. He quickly washed his tangled greasy hair with a shampoo that smelled like flowers, trying to avoid getting water in his sensitive ears, before washing the dirt from his body. His breath came out in a hiss as the water hit the scratches on his back and legs, but it felt good to finally be clean again.
He turned off the shower and reached for the soft dark blue towel. It smelled freshly washed and he quickly dried himself off before getting dressed in the oversized but warm clothes. He took the towel, rubbing his hair dry with as he looked at his face in the mirror and flinched at the sight of the scratches on his face. He didn't understand why the pretty Y/N was being so nice to him. She didn't know him and he didn't know her. He was just a stray without an owner.
Jimin figured he would stay the night and get out of her way first thing in the morning. He didn't want to be sent to the hybrid shelter, but knew that without an owner, that's where he would be sent. Although the laws were becoming more lax with hybrids, there were still humans who believed they didn't deserve the same basic rights.
Jimin opened the door and left the bathroom to see Y/N sitting on the sofa reading something on her phone. As he approached, Y/N looked up from her phone and gave him a smile. Jimin was struck by just how pretty she was. Her shoulder length hair was dark brown and her whiskey colored eyes brightened when she noticed him. She had on fuzzy pajama pants with cats on them and a tight black t-shirt that outlined her soft curves. Jimin wanted to smile at the irony of her pants. He clutched his dirty clothes in his hands and stood next to the edge of the sofa.
Y/N smiled at him then gestured towards the clothes in his hands. "You can put your clothes in the hamper in the laundry room and I can wash them for you," she said sweetly to him, pointing to a door off the kitchen.
Jimin nodded in agreement and did as she requested. He came back into the room and sat hesitantly on the edge of the sofa. Y/N looked over at him, but didn't move towards him.
Jimin spoke up. "Thank you for the meal and the offer of a bed. I will be out of here first thing in the morning," he said quickly.
"I understand," Y/N said softly. She stood up, her eyes sad. "I'm heading to bed. It was nice to meet you Jimin."
Jimin was confused by the sorrow he saw in her eyes, but didn't question it. He went to the room she had pointed out and closed the door quietly behind him. It was a nice sized room with pale blue walls, dark hardwood floors, honey colored furniture and a bed that looked as soft as a cloud. The dark blue rug felt incredibly plush under his bare feet and Jimin would have been happy curling up on that. However, the bed looked too comfortable to resist so Jimin pulled back the fuzzy blankets and lay down. He was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

Y/N was up early the next morning. She could see by the closed door that Jimin was still here and asleep. While he had been in the shower last night, Y/N had looked up the procedures for adopting a stray hybrid. As long as Jimin wasn't micro chipped and legally belonged to someone else, the process was fairly simple. A couple pages of paperwork, pay the fee, and he would be hers. However, Y/N didn't know if that were even something he would be interested in. Based on first impressions, Jimin didn't seem like the type of hybrid that would want to belong to anyone.
Y/N was in the middle of frying bacon when she heard the bedroom door open. Jimin was standing at the door, his black hair messy from sleep and rubbing his puffy eyes. He stopped when he noticed Y/N watching him, his cheeks turning red in his obvious embarrassment. He moved quickly to the back door to get his shoes.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sleep so long. I'll hurry up and get out of your way," Jimin said as he went to go past her.
Y/N reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder. Jimin flinched at her touch and Y/N quickly moved her hand, instead twisting it together with the other one. "You don't have to leave right away if you don't want to," Y/N said. "At least stay and have breakfast first. I made omelets and bacon." Y/N picked up the plates on the counter and loaded them with food: fluffy ham and cheddar omelets and crisp strips of apple-wood smoked bacon.
Jimin's stomach growled in response, causing Y/N to give him a small smile. "Are you sure you wouldn't mind? I don't want to be a burden," he asked, his sweet husky from sleep. Clearly he was hungry, but he was uncomfortable with her still.
"Please stay," Y/N pleaded, her voice gentle. She gestured towards the two plates she held in her hands. "I would like it if you had breakfast with me. I... I don't want you to be hungry."
Jimin hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. "Okay," he replied, moving to the island and sitting down, his tail wrapping protectively around his tiny waist.
"Would you like coffee to drink?" Y/N asked. "Or would you prefer something else? I have milk, juice and I think I even have some hot chocolate?"
Jimin seemed reluctant to answer the question. It was as though he didn't want to ask for anything. "Coffee's fine. Cream, no sugar," he finally replied.
Y/N made him a cup and set it in front of him. "You don't have to leave right away. I would like it if you would stay," she offered, unsure of how to approach the topic of Jimin letting her adopt him.
Jimin looked at her in surprise, his expressive eyes clearly showing his confusion. "Why would you let me stay here? I'm just a stray."
"You don't have to be if you don't want to," Y/N said softly.
Jimin tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean?" he questioned, not entirely sure where this conversation was going.
Y/N took a deep breath before continuing. "Well, I know I just met you, but I live alone here in this house. If you don't have anywhere to go, maybe you could stay and maybe let me adopt you?" Y/N suggested. "I was going to go to the shelter this week anyway."
Jimin was shocked at her words. "Why? Why would you want to adopt me?" he asked in surprise. "I'm a stray. I have no owners. I'm a dirty half-breed."
Y/N sat across from him and reached out to touch his hand, but quickly changed her mind and pulled her hand back, not wanting to invade his space, especially as she remembered how he flinched when she touched his shoulder. "I don't know you at all, but there is something about you that seems to be special. Just please think about it," she pleaded. Jimin didn't respond, so Y/N figured that it was his way of politely rejecting her offer.
Y/N finished her breakfast and put her plate in the dishwasher. She turned to Jimin who was still seated at the island, slowly eating his breakfast. "I'm going to go to the grocery store. If you would like to stay, you can. I would love it if you did. If you choose to leave then please be safe. Your clothes are clean and on the sofa, but you can keep the ones you have on too."
Y/N went into her bedroom, picking up her coat. She went back to the living room and pulled the coat on over her shoulder, buttoning it up to keep out the chilly winter air. It was nice to meet you Jimin. I do hope you're still here when I come back." Y/N picked up her purse and keys then gave Jimin a small wave and a smile before she opened the door, closing it gently behind her.
