Y/N woke up to a whimper coming from the dim room. The sound made Y/N quickly sit up, disoriented for a moment until she remembered where she was and what had happened to Jimin. Y/N noticed she was still holding Jimin's hand and went to pull it away, but his fingers tightened around hers, not letting her pull her hand away.

"Please don't leave me," a soft sweet voice pleaded, laced with pain. "Please stay with me."

Y/N stroked his fingers with her other hand, trying to bring him some semblance of comfort. "I'm not going anywhere sweet kitty," she said gently. "I'll stay here as long as you need. Please sleep. You need rest."

Jimin turned his head, his pain-filled coffee colored eyes meeting hers in the dimly lit room. "Just don't leave me here alone," he whispered before falling back to sleep.

Y/N sat in the dark room, continuing to hold his hand. When she went to pull away to grab a hoodie, he whined in his sleep and tightened his fingers around her. Y/N laid her head back on her folded arm and succumbed to sleep, unwilling to leave the hurting hybrid.

When Y/N opened her eyes again, pale sunlight was spilling through the curtains. She looked up and noticed Jimin was sleeping fitfully, his face contorted in pain. She reached up with her free hand and gently stroked his plump cheek. He began to relax at the feel of her hand on him. Y/N continued to stroke his cheek then slid her hand up and ran it through his silky hair, loving the feel of the soft strands between her fingers. His furry white ears twitched and the slight movement mesmerized Y/N. She was so fascinated watching his ears that Y/N didn't notice his coffee colored eyes were open and focused on her.

Y/N looked down and noticed his gaze on her, the expression in them slightly uneasy. She quickly moved her hand from his and sat back on the chair, folding her hands on the bed to prevent herself from reaching out again. Jimin continued to watch her quietly. "How are you feeling?" Y/N asked gently, not wanting to startle the injured cat.

Jimin closed his eyes briefly. "My whole body hurts," he said. Jimin opened his eyes again, directing his timid gaze back to her. "Did you stay in here with me the whole night?"

Y/N nodded hesitantly. He must not remember asking her to not leave him. "Uhh... yeah. I wanted to be here in case you needed anything," she replied. Something flashed in Jimin's eyes and Y/N wasn't sure what it was. "Are you hungry or thirsty?"

Jimin nodded slightly. "Just thirsty," he said, coughing to try and clear his raspy throat.

"I'll bring you some water," Y/N said, as she stood up to leave the room.

Jimin reached out and grabbed her hand before she could leave the room. "You're coming back, right?"

Y/N nodded. "I'll be right back." Jimin nodded and released her hand.

Jimin closed his eyes again as Y/N left the room. He couldn't remember much of what happened yesterday. He had been outside a small convenience store, counting the few dollars in his pocket. He was starving and trying to get at least something in his empty stomach. The owner of the store was kinder than most and allowed hybrids without owners as long as they didn't cause trouble. Jimin had just left the store, a muffin and a bottle of water gripped in his hands that were trembling from hunger. Unfortunately, the three men who had entered just as Jimin was walking out apparently had not known the owner's regulations. They had dragged him out to the alley, knocking him to the ground. He had tried to defend himself, but one kicked him right in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him.

One of the men had picked him up off the ground and had slammed him against the side of the building, smacking his head on the brick. Jimin had seen stars and collapsed to the ground, spitting out blood. The men had laughed and left the alley, telling him to stay out of places he didn't belong. After he had lain there a moment trying to breathe through the pain, Jimin had forced himself to get up. He had known he couldn't stay there. An injured hybrid without a way to defend himself was looking for a death wish.

Jimin had no idea just where to go. After he had left the alley, he remembered stumbling through the streets, stopping here and there to lean against a building or light pole and catch his breath, trying to soothe his aching body. He had not realized he was at Y/N's house until he was knocking on her door. The last thing he remembered was Y/N opening the door and collapsing into her arms.

Jimin didn't know why he had gone to Y/N's house. Something about her made him feel safe. Made him feel protected. He knew he had hurt her by leaving, but he didn't want to be a burden to her.

Y/N came back into the room with a bottle of water and a bowl filled with some type of stew. "I wasn't sure if you would feel up to eating, but you need to get something in you. It's nothing fancy, but it's hearty," she explained gesturing towards the bowl in her hands.

Jimin nodded and Y/N helped him to sit up, putting an arm around his back and propping the pillows up behind him. Y/N opened the water and helped him take a drink. "Are you hungry? Can you try eating something?" she asked.

Jimin hesitated, but his empty stomach clenched at the thought of food. "Okay," he replied, his voice soft.

Y/N held the bowl out to him, but noticed the way his hands shook. "Can I help you?" she questioned, her eyes filled with concern.

Jimin nodded again. Y/N held a spoon of soup to him and he opened his mouth like a small child, feeding him the stew. Jimin closed his eyes in delight at the delicious flavors that burst on his tongue: thick broth, seasoned chicken, and perfectly cooked vegetables. It had been days since he had eaten anything and the soup was like heaven, filling up his empty stomach.

Y/N fed him the bowl one spoon at a time, each touch gentle and unhurried, until there was nothing left. Jimin looked at Y/N, a blush coloring his cheeks and mumbled something. Y/N tilted her head in confusion. "Can you help me to the bathroom?" he asked again, a little louder this time.

Y/N nodded her head quickly. She helped Jimin sit up all the way and gave him a minute to get his equilibrium back. Once he seemed a little steadier, Y/N wrapped an arm around his waist and helped him to his feet. After leading him to the bathroom, Y/N waited outside the door for him. She heard the toilet flush then the sound of the sink running. As the door opened, Y/N stepped forward to help the weak cat. She put a gentle arm back around his waist and led him back to bed.

Jimin lay down on the bed, his face flushed and panting heavily. The short walk took all of his energy and he was clearly exhausted. Y/N settled him back down on the bed and covered him up again, making sure he was as comfortable as possible. Jimin closed his eyes in pain and Y/N stroked his hair again, trying to give him any semblance of comfort. He opened his eyes and Y/N quickly pulled her hand away.

Jimin reached out and grabbed her hand, placing it back in his hair. "Please don't stop," he pleaded, his expressive eyes begging her to keep soothing him.

Y/N continued to run her hand through his soft hair until his breathing evened out and he drifted back into a contented sleep. Y/N slowly pulled her hand away from his hair and stood up, waiting for him to fidget. When she saw that he was sleeping deeply, Y/N stood up and quietly left the room. She went to her bathroom and quickly showered, changing into clean clothes. She made herself a cup of coffee then called Hoseok to update him on Jimin's condition. He offered to bring the pills by on his lunch break. Y/N accepted the offer, happy she didn't have to leave Jimin on his own, especially when he was clearly too weak to move about on his own.
