The next morning, Y/N took Jimin to the hybrid shelter to get him checked out by Hoseok and to start the adoption paperwork. Jimin clung tightly to her hand as they stepped into the shelter. Jimin's ears twitched at all the noises and his expressive eyes were wide as they took in everything.

Hoseok's pretty receptionist, Cheyenne, gave them a bright smile when they came in. "Hey Y/N," she said. "Who's this guy? Did you adopt a hybrid?" Y/N laughed at the excitement in her voice. Cheyenne knew that Y/N had been looking at hybrids, but hadn't yet found one she connected with.

Jimin ducked behind Y/N, uncomfortable with the attention he was receiving. He wasn't used to humans looking at him and it made him uneasy.

Y/N could sense Jimin's reluctance and squeezed his hand gently. "Morning Cheyenne. This is Jimin," she replied, gesturing towards the nervous cat. "I came to see Hoseok about filling the papers to adopt him. Does he have time this morning?"

Cheyenne looked down at the calendar open on her desk. "You're in luck. His 10:15 canceled," she replied. "I can give you that time frame."

Y/N looked down at her watch. It was almost 10:15 already so the timing was perfect. "That would be great," she replied.

Hoseok came walking out of the office followed by a tiny tiger hybrid who looked to be about 4 years old and a human woman who was holding his hand. Hoseok bent down and looked at the tiny tiger. "Okay Felix. No more eating crayons, no matter how good you think they taste," he said, poking the little boy in the belly then standing up.

Felix giggled and hugged Hoseok's legs. "Thank you for making my tummy not hurt anymore Dr. Hobi," he exclaimed. "I promise you and mommy I won't eat no more crayons."

Hoseok addressed the woman. "Felix will be just fine," he said, patting the little boy's head.

The woman nodded and gave Hoseok a bright smile. "Thank you so much. I was so worried about him," she exclaimed.

Hoseok bid them farewell then turned to Y/N, giving her a big smile. "Hey Y/N," he said. "What brings you in?"

Y/N gestured towards Jimin who was watching the human woman and the little tiger leave the shelter, a curious look on his face. "I want to adopt Jimin," she explained. "Can you help us?"

Hoseok turned to Jimin. "Is that what you want?" he asked, making sure this was okay with the cat. He refused to process adoptions if the hybrid did not want it. He chose this position to help them, not put them in uncomfortable situations.

Jimin nodded. "Yes," he replied simply. He turned towards the door that the woman and the little boy left. "Why... why did he call her mommy?" He couldn't get the interaction out of his mind. Too many times he had seen hybrids mistreated by humans, but this little boy was looking up at the woman like she gave him the whole galaxy.

Hoseok smiled. "Well Felix is her son," he explained. "Her husband is a tiger hybrid. About two years after they got married, she had Felix."

Jimin's eyes widened in shock. "That human woman is married to a hybrid and they have a child together?" he asked in surprise. He had never seen that before. Most humans wouldn't even think of getting in a relationship with a hybrid.

Hoseok nodded. "Yep," he said simply. "Now let's go get this adoption process started. I need to do a quick exam of you first." He led them into a small room and had Jimin sit up on the paper covered bed.

The first thing Hoseok did was scan the back of Jimin's neck looking for a microchip. He did have one, but he explained that it had been wiped clean.
