Chapter 10

Y/N was ecstatic. Her latest book that had been published had made it into the top 10 on the romantic fantasy charts. She was in the office with Taehyung for their weekly meeting and he gave her the news, clearly sharing in her excitement. "I never expected this to happen," she said excitedly. She jumped out of her seat and hugged Taehyung tightly. "Thanks Tae. I couldn't have done this without you."

Taehyung hugged her back. "No problem babe. I always knew you were going to be a star," he replied. He released her from his arms and sat on the edge of his desk. "How's it going with the hybrid?"

Y/N's face lit up at the mention of Jimin. "Really well. He seems to have adapted fine. He spends most days watching television, playing on his phone, or watching me work. I was worried that he wouldn't feel comfortable enough with me, but that's not what happened," Y/N explained, her voice excited as she talked about her sweet kitty.

Taehyung smiled at her response. "I'm really happy to hear that. You've been living alone for too long. You need the company," he said, happy for his friend.

Y/N nodded. "It really is nice to have some company, especially since my editor-friend never has any time for me anymore," she replied, a fake pout on her face.

Taehyung laughed at the not so subtle dig at him. "How about I take you to dinner tonight to celebrate your top 10 entrance? It's been a while since we've done that," he suggested.

Y/N nodded emphatically. "That would be great, but let's get started," she said as she pulled out her tablet with the recent pages of her manuscript. Even though it was a celebratory day, they still had work to do.

Jimin was sitting in the waiting room talking to Jungkook when Y/N came out of Taehyung's office. As soon as the door opened, Jimin could smell the scent of the male radiating off of Y/N's skin. Her usually sweet smell was being overpowered by something unfamiliar. Jimin's chest tightened with jealousy. He heard Taehyung speak and his ears twitched listening to the conversation.

"I'll pick you up at 7 and we can go to our spot," Taehyung said.

Y/N nodded again. "Sounds great," she replied and Taehyung headed back into his office to get ready for a meeting. Y/N turned to Jimin. "Are you ready to go kitty?"

Jimin nodded. Although his face was blank, his voice was tight when he responded. "Yeah whenever you are," he replied nonchalantly.

Y/N raised an eyebrow at his short tone, but he avoided her gaze. "Um... okay," she replied, wondering what had happened while she was in the office with Taehyung. "Let's go get some lunch."

As they were leaving, Jungkook came up to them. "Hey if you're not busy tonight, want to get together and hang out?" he asked shyly. "If it's okay with Noona?"

Y/N looked over at Jimin. "You should kitty," she encouraged. "I won't be home tonight anyway and it would be good for you to spend some time with other people besides me."

Jimin felt tears prick the back of his eyes, but refused to let the hurt show. She thought they were spending too much time together. He didn't understand why. He loved spending time with her, whether it was at a restaurant or just at home watching movies, with his head in her lap. Jimin nodded at Jungkook and struggled to keep his voice even. "Yeah that would be fun. Can you come to our place?" he questioned.

Jungkook nodded excitedly. He didn't get to spend a lot of time with other hybrids so this would be fun for him.

Y/N giggled at the cute bunny smile on the younger hybrid. "I'll order pizza for you guys if you want," she suggested.
