Misunderstood

chapter 6

I pick up the blade and then Misty opens my bedroom door.. Crap I should have locked it I thought

"No Chloe put it down" she screams.

Dad comes running up to my bedroom and as soon as he sees the blade I'm holding he runs to me and takes the blade.

"No! Give it to me" I scream.

"No I will not let my daughter do this to herself" he says calmly.

"You and mom haven't cared about it before what makes you care now?" I ask starting to cry.

"That is not true Chloe" he says.

"Yeah? All you two did was fight."

"Parents fight." He says

"well it didn't help me any!" I say

"I know, and I wish I could take it all back." He says.

"But you can't. That isn't how life works" I say.

He doesn't say anything. He hugs me tight to the point I almost can't breathe. I hug him back. "I love you" I whisper.

"I love you even more than you think" he says.

After we are done hugging I notice Misty is not in my room anymore. I walk downstairs and see her crying in the living room. When she sees me she wipes her tears and acts like she was never crying. I feel really bad for making her feel horrible.

"I'm sorry" I say.

"I'm sorry too sweetheart." She says hugging me. " tell me the truth, did you feel like we were giving Sadie too much attention? "

"I don't know." I say.

"Mommy?" Sadie says.

"Hi honey" she says to Sadie.

"I think she should be locked in the scary house because she made you cry." Sadie says.

"The place where you get locked up and don't come home for a while....."

"Can you go play Sadie and let me and Chloe talk?" Misty asks.

"Yeah" Sadie says getting off of Misty's lap.

"When's your next appointment?" Misty asks.

"Friday next week" I say.

"What time?" She asks.

"9:30 am... Can you bring me please?"

"Sure." Misty said.

"Thanks" I say.

"Chloe do you want to skip school tomorrow and do something fun?" She asks.

"Um.....sure like what? " I ask.

"Whatever you want." She says

"Well there's this new horror movie that just came out."

"Oh boy. You know I hate scary movies but sure we can do that" she says smiling.

"And maybe get pizza and go to the mall?" She asks.

"yes" I say.

"Thanks I really appreciate this" I say to Misty.

"No problem. I really want to get closer to you and not fight anymore. " she says.

I felt like this was all just an act so I was

prepared to tell Dr. Reeves next session.

I wake up at 9:00 and thought I was late for school but then remembered I was hanging out with Misty today. I got dressed and put makeup on then headed downstairs to eat breakfast. Misty was already in the kitchen dressed and almost done eating.
