"I'll pass," Evelyn said briskly making Cornelia pout at her rude reply. "I'm sorry," she added quietly discerning their expression.
"Ayah, get ready, the party is about to start," Cornelia said looking at her and turned to Evelyn, "The party is in the clubhouse in case you change your mind, Evelyn," She said giving her a sly smile before walking out of the room.
"Can I stay with you, Evelyn? I'm not going to the party either and I don't want to be alone," Emilia asked innocently.
"Alright," Evelyn said after a thought.
"You lucky girl," Aaleyah gave Emilia a fake pointed look, "Don't get too close with my roommate, I should be the one getting close to her," She jested before strolling near her closet.
"Oh, don't worry, Ayah, I'm never stealing your place," Emilia jested back sweetly. Evelyn silently regarded them before going towards her bed and sat upon it. Emilia followed and sat on Ayah's bed.
"So Evelyn what's your profession?" Emilia asked bringing up a conversation.
"Graphic Designing,"
"Wow, that's major." Emilia said under her gasp. "Mine is Fashion,"
"No course is minor or major. It depends on your field of interest." Evelyn said.
"Very true, Evelyn," Aaleyah agreed before strolling into the bathroom with her clothes. After some minutes, she walked out in her party dress and bed byes to the both of them.
"So Evelyn, where are you from?" Emilia asked.
"From the Northern,"
"Really, I'm from Northern too. We should go together during weekends," Emilia said with excitement.
"I don't plan on going home for weekends. I'll be staying with my grandma, she lives here," Evelyn tells, shaking her head.
"I have my relatives here too but I prefer home than staying at my cousin's place," Emilia told under her chuckled.
Most of the time, Emilia kept on saying while Evelyn listened to her, and she seemed to like listening to her. Emilia stopped in the middle of her speaking when she received a notification on her phone. She unlocked her phone screen and got a notification on Instagram—one of her classmates was going live.
"Oh my god," Emilia gasped out loud looking at her phone screen. Evelyn creased her brows looking at her. "Brian and Carson are on it,"
At the mention of her best friend, Evelyn jumped off from her bed and snapped the phone from Emilia. Anger surfaced on her featured at once looking at Brian fighting with some guys.
"Damn it, Brian!" Evelyn muttered under her gritted teeth.
"You know Brian!" Emilia exclaimed and she gave her a curt nod.
"Is this the party in the club house?" Evelyn asked and Emilia nodded at her. "Take me there, will you?"
"Sure."
They scurried their steps and in ten minutes, they reached the club house. Emilia was still watching the live, the fight was still on, mostly taunting each other. They entered inside and soon the strong smell of alcohol and cigarettes filled their noses. Emilia made a disgusted face over it and covered her nose with her hand while Evelyn was normal—she was familiar with the smell.
Evelyn looked around for Brian as she ambled between the people and Emilia followed her closely. Curious eyes landed on them as they walked by but Evelyn simply ignored them while Emilia face was filled with insecurities.
