Nathan looked around and searched for Evelyn but she was nowhere outside to be found. He made his way towards the house and met Genesis on the way who just came out of the house.
"If you're looking for Evelyn, she's inside alone, and she's crying," Genesis said cheekily and lied to him.
"What did you do to her?" Nathan asked and narrowed his eyes at her. Genesis simply rolled her eyes over and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Do you think I can make that bitch cry? Hell no!" Genesis said under her pout and walked away, swaying her ponytail in the process.
Nathan glanced at her back and shook his head before getting inside the house. He strolled towards the living room and found her. Evelyn was seated on the floor and was sharing talks among his friends. He silently stood by the door and stared at her. He absentmindedly smiled as he softly watched her laughing shortly.
"She's beautiful, isn't she?" A voice asked from his side but his mind was too occupied with Evelyn that he didn't even felt a presence beside him.
"Yes, she is," Nathan agreed under his smile. William shook his head amusedly and flicked his fingers in front of his face, distracting him from his daydream. Nathan blinked twice and regarded William beside him.
"You should tell her already, Nathan," William said glancing at Evelyn. "For how long are you planning to make her wait for you?" He asked.
"I don't. I told her clearly not to like me." Nathan said quietly.
"But you are well aware that she still likes you and is waiting for you," William commented. "You can't go on pretending like you don't feel the same for her, Nathan," He hissed in an upset tone.
"Tell her about your true feelings before its too late," William said and patted on his shoulder. Nathan regarded his words for a moment and nodded at him.
"Where's Easton and Lucy?" Nathan asked.
"They're in the kitchen enjoying Russell cookies," William answered.
"Nathan," They both turned back and saw Carla standing some feet away from them. "I just came to tell you that I'm-" Carla stopped midway when her eyes fell on Evelyn. "Oh, Evelyn's here too," She exclaimed lightly.
"We came here together," William said giving her a small smile. Carla's face fell slightly but she quickly masked it with a convincing smile and strolled inside the living room.
"Hey, Evelyn," Carla greeted sweetly, grabbing their attention towards her.
Evelyn regarded her for a moment and tugged a light smirked on her lips before looking away from her. "Good to see you here, Carla," She said simply, hiding her sarcastic tone behind her words.
"Good to see you too here," Carla said under her smile.
"Really?" Evelyn encountered under her smile with her raised eyebrows. Carla frowned slightly and stared at her for a moment.
"I just came to say goodbye. See you all after the weekend." Carla said under her forced smile and turned away from them. Evelyn rolled her eyes over and looked away from her when she saw her exchanging talks with Nathan by the door.
"You're jealous," Jeffrey teased amusedly and earned a glare from her.
"I'm not jealous. I just don't like people pretending to be someone else." Evelyn said quietly. Being a good observer, she knows how Carla was. Eleanor was right about her. Carla pretends to be too nice.
"What do you mean?" Kevin asked under his creased brows.
"Nothing," Evelyn said and rolled her eyes over. She stood up from the floor and made her way towards the kitchen. She stopped by the door and pouted at William who was looking at her with an amused smile.
