"I think...I think there could be a plot...to destroy the Jedi."

"What!?" You screamed in disbelief, with Rex quickly shushing you.

"What do you mean, plot to destroy the Jedi?" you questioned eager for his response.

"Fives...he...he told me that there's a chip...a chip inside every clones head. Which can be controlled by someone to make us do whatever they want."

"A chip? A chip that hasn't been found for the duration of the clones existence?" You ponder.

"...Yes." Rex responds lacking confidence in his words.

"Is there evidence for it?" you asked.

"...No...no sir."

"Why did Fives tell you this? And...was he Ok...mentally at the time?" You carefully questioned.

"Fives has...been through a lot, the last couple days. After Tup...killed Master Tiplar he-"

"What!?" you screamed once again.

"Please, Sir. Be quiet."

"No. What do you mean he killed Master Tiplar, why...h-how?" You stuttered.

"During a battle on the space station around Ringo Vinda. Tup...he just killed her...with no emotion."

"And where is Tup now?" You commanded.

"...He's gone too Sir. He was taken to Kamino to be analyzed, but...he died not too long after." You both let of more calm sighs.

"Fives was a good friend with Tup wasn't he?"

"His best." Rex replied. A silence slowly made its way into the situation.

"Can, you tell me more about Fives?" You asked, Rex nodded in reply ant took in a sharp breath.

"He told me...that the Chancellor is on it. He said that...Chancellor Palpatine told him directly...when Fives attempted to...kill him." Rex pushed out.

"What in the world has happened these last couple days?" You muttered under your breath.

"Rex. Do you truly believe this? Do you 100% think that there is a plot to destroy the Jedi, orchestrated by the Chancellor?" You clearly inquired. Rex's hand came up to the back of his neck while he looked off to the side, internally fighting himself to find his answer.

"N-No...I'm not sure...Are you?" Rex responded, more shy and vulnerable then you had ever seen the captain.

"I'm sorry Rex. But I'm not convinced...I don't think Fives may have been in the right head space." You admit.

"May-maybe your right, (y/n)." Rex coughed. You watched as his expression change from his internal fighting to acceptance. 'As much as I want to believe Rex and Fives. It's just something so shocking that I could never see happening.'

"Rest easy, Rex." You comfort him with a tap on the shoulder.

"Thank you General." Rex says before walking off and back to his own legion. You walked back towards the mess and returned to your spot next to Op.

"What did captain Rex need? He didn't look alright." Op initiated the conversation cheerfully.

"He just wanted to talk to me about...his recent mission to Ringo Vinda...Master Tiplar perished, so it's really tough for everyone who was there." You say with a sigh. 'Here I am. Lying to my best friends once again.'

"Poor Rex. I know she wasn't his General but still...losing a Jedi general. I couldn't imagine it." Op huffed playing with his food.

"It'd be so hard to go on after losing you...or your father." Op sighed. He turned his head away from you so you couldn't catch his expression.
