Chapter 72 | Kenobi

You jumped out of the ship with Rex behind you. Both of you getting shot back to the proportion of the battle. You ignite your jet pack as well as your lightsaber and zoom into the fight. You block shots from incoming Mandalorians and do your best to deflect them back into them, which is quite difficult at such great speed. You spot a group of four of Mauls warriors manning a republic gunship, using it as cover.

You boost yourself so that you are side by side with them. Blaster shots rapidly fly in your direction. All either missing or deflecting of your lightsaber. You twirled around in the air, dodging all the shots and when you got the opportunity you threw your lightsaber into the back of the ship. The blade spun perfectly to slice all four of them in the chest. Your lightsaber then flew out the other side of the ship, and you slowed down and let it boomerang back to you, once the ship had passed.

Catching back up to the core battle, you see two small glowing lights on top of on the clan's ships. It was Ahsoka. Your heart sunk a small bit when she just jumped off the front of the ship onto a descending gunship, with thick black smoke pouring from the engine. But it was Ahsoka, the bravest fighter you knew.

You started to bounce around from ship to ship, getting rid of all the lone traitors standing on them like it's their own perch. The whole battle started to get closer to the surface of Mandalore. All the ships dipped down to not fly over Sindari. On the landing pad of the capital, you could barely see a blur of red and black figures, with them two glowing lightsabers taking on all of them.

An explosion underneath the landing pad is what you used as a temporary cover to land. You landed beside Ahsoka and started to help her deflect the rapid and intense firepower from Maul's forces, which quickly started to diminish and fall back. Some of your clan started to land with you, helping to push them back. They all quickly retreated into the city once dozens of you all advanced on them.

You stood back and let all the clan and republic forces rush into the city to continue the fight, while you held back a small bit. A lightsaber in such an open area wouldn't be the most effective weapon.

"Seems you two haven't lost any of your skill." Rex huffed, with heavy breathing.

"Yeah, I guess some things just never change." Ahsoka gleamed. You all looked at each other and knew one thing, the fight wasn't over. You all started to sprint towards the entrance to the city.

"Hey, Soka, you might actually need a jet pack now?" You called out over the commotion of noise.

"How bout I accept that offer of you carrying me?" Ahsoka asked with a clever smile on her face. She couldn't see your mouth, but it too bared a wide grin.

"My pleasure." You responded cheerfully. You both continued to run into the city and once you emerged from the tunnel. You felt the weight of Ahsoka jump onto your back. She had one hand firmly grasped around the rocket of your backpack, and her feet pushing on the back of the jet pack to keep her up. You carefully flew into the air and re-joined the attack. You heard the ignition of one of Ahsoka's lightsabers and you activated yours as well.

You slowly hovered right into the heat of the battle. Since Ahsoka had your back you didn't worry too much about getting shot. You were an unstoppable force, leading the clones into the city, and to the forever diminishing number of Maul's warriors. You reached a certain spot where there were walkways hovering above the city, so Ahsoka took the opportunity to jump onto it and continue to fight with more flexibility. You stayed in the air and helped her fight.

The initial invasion was ending. You and Ahsoka just finished off the last few of Maul's soldiers that you were fighting, and you say Captain Vaughn chasing a few of the last ones down to the underground of the city.
