Chapter 12:
(Ellie's POV)
The guy in the corner looked like someone i had seen before. Wait, he looked like Liam. If he's got Liam watching me, it must still mean he cares for me. I'm so confused. What if Liam is here because he's doing something else, he does have a separate life from Harry to be fair. I looked back at my phone to try and ignore him. So I'm guessing that the message was meant for me but i don't understand it. Its in a different language so how I'm meant to understand that i have no clue. The man from the corner comes and sit in front of me and straight away i knew it was liam.
"Liam, what are you?" i said as he sat
"Look, Harry was here and wanted to see if you were okay" he said as i put my phone down.
"So where is he?" i said annoyed because i hadn't seen him
"I get that you two are in an awkward place right now" he said before i interrupted him
"An awkward place? its like a freakin' battlefield" i explained
"I know i get it, it's just harry got this message and it worried him and he wants me to watch over you for a while" he said. I clenched my phone when it felt hard to breath.
"Why cant he do it?" i asked because i had a point and he knew it too.
"He's got to go away for a while" he said. I felt my heart stop for a second
"He's what?" i said stunned by his comment
"I told him i didn't want to tell you this and that he would have to tell you himself" he said looking around as if harry was around and he wanted him to hear but all i could see were little kids running rampage around us.
"Tell me what Liam?" i said not getting agitated. I took a deep breath but i could feel myself getting lightheaded
"Ellie calm down, you need to breath" he said trying to diverge away from the conversation.
"Where is he?" i whispered calmly so i wouldn't make a scene.
"What?" he asked confused
"I need to talk to him" i said a little louder.
"He's gone away" he said
"Where?" i asked, now short tempered and ready to kick off to make a scene.
"I cant say" he said before i stood up and grabbed the oxygen
"Wait wait wait" he said putting his hand out for me to stop. I sat back down as he spoke
"He was mumbling, saying something about how it wasn't fair on you and that he was being selfish so he would leave for a while and if it was real, it will still be there when he comes back" he said and i could tell my his facial expressions he was trying to remember really hard for me. But all this information hit a nerve. How dare Harry do this to me? to us? i thought he generally cared for me and would fight through this together. I understand that he wants to protect me but without him its worse. I lived without him for 45 years and it brought me nothing but pain. My thoughts were interrupted when Liam remembered something else
"I remember something, he said that he wants you to be happy and if that means a life without him than that's the path that has to follow through, or something like that" he said as my mum came over with the tray.
"Liam? when did you get here?" she said sounding happy to see him.
"I was in here picking up a burger for Niall and i saw Ellie here and thought id have a quick chat." he said winking at me without my mum noticing as she put the tray on the table.
"Well would you like to sit with us?" she asked politely.
"No it's fine, i'd better get back anyway, I'll text you later" he said obviously talking to me at the end but all i did was nod back before he left.She sat where Liam was sat, opposite from me, and started sorting out the food.
"What a nice lad, has such nice manners" she said giving me my burger
"Thanks" i said taking the burger out of the packaging
"Its okay, how are you feeling?" she asked referring to the oxygen.
"Better, its only temporarily" i said before explaining the whole thing to her. The Harry situation, the mysterious man, the doctor and now the Liam thing. It felt good knowing that me and mum are so close that i can tell her everything.
"I feel like i should be surprised but I'm not" she said eating her chips.
"Huh?" i said waiting for a massive telling off to occur about the fact that i hadn't told her at the beginning of all this
"Well this was mine and your fathers fault, we've let you grow into that sort of environment when we should have been the ones who were creating a separate area of safety for you" she explained
"Well the Harry thing wasn't your guys fault, he chose to leave" i said trying to take some of the blame of them.
"Okay but we shouldn't have made it this hard for you two, its not fair but its the law and we don't like making exceptions for anybody including you" she said. I smiled because she tried to say in her own little way that she cared.
"Oh and there's something else that I've just remembered, there was a message when you went to get some oxygen and i thought nothing of it until i got the same message through a text" i said getting up the text on my phone and showed it to her.
"That's in Latin" she said noticing little things and really focusing her sight onto the screen
"It is?" i said laying the phone in front of her so she could read it clearer
"yes and if I'm correct it means But if he does not fall into one another, in order to then be happy, but you want me to change the world? i think, my Latin is rusty nowadays" she said.
"That makes no sense" i said eating my chips.
"That name ... no way, Jerimiya Utile, he is an immortal" she said remembering him
"Famous for a forbidden love. A good poet too, comes from way back, good soul but bad ways" she explained.
"There are immortal people out there?" i asked never hearing of this before
"Of course there are, don't be daft" she said
"You said forbidden love, what happened?" i asked not curious and trying to find links
"Him and his Mrs were from Pompeii and the Lava that melted them actually was a cocoon which kept them alive. They both came out at different times trying to fit into the world they had just came into and trying to find each other. Apparently he only found out that his Mrs was a witch right before the explosion and being a witch back then was a big thing but now in this world where it doesn't matter, they found each other and are living the rest of there eternity together" She explained
"You know the story well" i said noticing
"I should, He's my uncle" she smiled
"Jeremy? Jerimiya is actually Jeremy and The Mrs is Lucy" i said shocked.
"Yep" she said taking a sip. Now there are a few links ...
