Chapter 8:

(Ellie's POV)

i never thought this day would actually happen. I knew he would die at one point but not this soon, and not so young. I took a deep breath from my mask whilst thinking: Who murdered him? i know that a lot of vampires want him dead but i never really believed he would actually die. I couldn't hear anyone, the room was absolute silent. The silence wasn't new to me. I need to go back to mum, it would be difficult because i couldn't breath well.  I took another deep breath before trying to stand up, which i managed successfully. I tied the mask around my head so it would stay over my mouth and nose. I put my boots on and picked up the oxygen tank. It wasn't as heavy as i thought it would be. Luckily, it was in a bag which i could put on my back so i could travel. I put the bag on my back and sneaked out the apartment. If i told harry where i was going, he would try and convince me not to go or come with me. I just need some time alone from him and with my mum. As i was walking, i felt light-headed and my power of breath decreasing. I was walking down the street and with an oxygen mask and tank on, everyone around me looked at pity at me so when i stopped, i could see people looking worried. A fairly old women walked up to me as i bent over catching my breath

"Are you okay love? do you need a taxi to the hospital?" she asked bending over with me, i stood straight up so i wasn't being rude when i would speak to her. I nodded before talking

"ill be fine thank you" i said putting my hand on my waist to keep me stable

"at least let me pay for you to get a taxi home then, i wouldn't allow if my daughter was ill to be walking round town in this condition" she said putting her arm out to let me lean on which i took advantage of

"oh dear you must be cold" she said before ringing up a taxi, i nodded taking in deep breaths

"hello, could you pick this women up from outside the Ginkgo pub to wherever" she listened to the other person on the phone before hanging up

"they'll be here in 2 minutes" she said whilst putting her phone in her handbag

"are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital?" she asked looking concerned. I didn't even know this women and she was helping me out so much.

"no thank you" i said before taking a deep breath. We went silent for half a minute before the silence was broken

"My son had a low case of brain-cancer" she said randomly looking into the distance,

"Overtime, he was forgetting to breath, he was loosing his sight but it got better" she said still looking away. I felt slightly uncomfortable when she mentioned this so out of the blue, i didn't know where she was going with this comment but she carried on

"when i saw you, it triggered me to see him and how much pain he was in and how the doctors didn't give him the support he needed so i thought by helping you, the good-will will be passed on" she looking to me.

"Sorry, i do ramble on to strangers, i don't know when to stop" she said shaking her head

"what happened it him?" i asked which made her look settled again

"because it was a low case of the tumour, he had surgery to remove it and ever since has been on the road to recovery" She said monotonic. I just looked at the floor until the taxi came. She helped me into the back and gave me a £20

"use this for the travel costs" she said smiling

"thank you" i said before she closed the door

"so where too?" the driver said

"24 Yea Street off Eddington road" i said before he drove off. For the drive, i looked out of the window watching as it started to rain, typical stereotype of a bad day. The driver stopped as we approached  my street. I handed him the money

"keep the change" i said as i got out, putting the oxygen back on my back. I opened the front door and saw mum standing in the kitchen looking down at a mug. She turned to me and ran over noticing the oxygen

"what happened?" she said looking at me, her eyes were welled up and her mascara was stained in her tear stained cheeks

"I'm just ill, ill be fine tomorrow" i said hugging her tight

"he's dead" i whispered as i tried to hold in the tears so i could breath easier.

"i know honey" she whispered too but i could tell she was crying on my shoulder

"I knew it was going to happen but nit this soon, not even without a fight from him" I said trying to comfort her

"I know and for it to be one of the boys who did it" she said letting me go. Why would one of his friends do this to him?

"Who did it? Phill, Paul?" I asked before taking a deel breath from the mask

"No not those boys,  your boys" she said and I felt my stomach twist.

"Harry?" I asked holding in tears.

"No no no, Zayn. Did he not tell you?"
