Chapter 12 - The Truth

Chapter 12

Ichigo P.O.V:

Byakuya: Soul Society was founded by 5 clans. The 4 Nobel clans and the Shiba clan. They are the ones that created everything from the foundation of Soul Society itself to kido. But as time went along let's say they strayed away from the founders intent. Which led to corruption. The rich getting away with everything while the poor were forced to do things which can be deemed unjustifiable. Which is why the Shiba clan left the whole situation after the death of Kaien Shiba because the killer wasn't exactly brought to justice

I looked over at Rukia. Guilt was clearly painted on her face. I knew deep down she still felt very guilty about it. I grabbed her hand to reassure her it's alright

Byakuya: Do you remember Tosen?

Ichigo: Yeah wasn't he that blind swordsman Aizen killed. I said wondering why is he bringing him up now?

Byakuya: Well the reason why Tosen sided with Aizen is because his friend was married to a nobel man and he killed her. Obviously Tosen was angered by this but Central 46 who basically have full dictatorship over Soul Society didn't do anything which is why Aizen proceeded to kill all of them back then

I was absolutely astonished at what Byakuya said. Was this really true? If it is why did Byakuya just stand around and let it all happen. I stood up and grabbed his collar

Ichigo: If you knew about all of this why didn't you do anything how could you just stand around and let it all happen?!

Byakuya: You think I didn't want to do anything about it? If I tried to do anything the whole Kuchiki clan would be defamated and plus even if that did not happen what could I do that would stop all of this corruption? Byakuya said slightly raising his voice. It was obvious that he was slightly annoyed by my remark

I did not know how to respond. He was right. What could we possibly do in this impossible situation. It dawned on me that Aizen must of realized the same thing. So thats why he tried to reform Soul Society through brute force and killing.

Rukia: Ichigo

I turned my face to meet Rukia's

Rukia: Ni-sama is right there is nothing we can possibly do. Even if we did it will probably end not very good for us. And me knowing you. You will probably go do something very stupid and I don't wanna see you get hurt. So please try to understand Ni-sama

I slowly let go of Byakuya's coller after what Rukia said

Byakuya: Thank you for understanding Kurosaki and also don't make me regret telling you all of this

Soon afterwards we decided to go home and tucked the kids into bed. We also got ready for bed as it was already night time. I was laying in down, looking at the ceiling replaying what Byakuya said. But doing that made me angry so I just stopped. Rukia walked into the room and laid down next to me

Rukia: Your still thinking about what Ni-sama said aren't you

I turned to my side to meet Rukia's eyes with mine

Ichigo: How do you always know what I'm thinking? I asked smiling

Rukia: Well that's because I know you very well Kurosaki Ichigo. She said smiling back

Ichigo: But Rukia I don't wanna just stand back and do nothing. Part of me is aching and wanting to do something about it even though I know I can't do anything about it. I said while my smile faded.

Rukia intertwined her fingers with mine

Rukia: Ichigo I know how you fell but I don't want anything to happen to you plus what about Kazui and Ichika if anything happened to them I would never be able to forgive you or myself. Rukia said in a soft tone

I snuggled close to Rukia and buried my head into her neck. She started to slowly caress my hair. It was a very warm feeling reassuring me that everything will be alright

Ichigo: I know how you feel but you know. I said not knowing what else to say

Rukia: I know. Rukia responded

We stayed like that for a bit in complete silence

Rukia: Ichigo can I ask you something?

Ichigo: Sure you can ask me anything

Rukia: Why do you and Kazui have a hollow inside of you?

I wasn't surprised by Rukia's question. I knew one day that I would have to tell her and her seeing Zangetsu probably enticed her more to ask me

I took in a deep breath in doing so I also inhaled Rukia's scent she smelled sweet

Ichigo: Well it all starts all the way back before I was born. A Vasta Lorde, one that Aizen created named White possessed my mom. Then to save her my dad lost all of his Shinigami powers but he got them back when my spiritual pressure couldn't contain the hollow anymore. Then it got passed down to me then Kazui

Rukia P.O.V:

I stayed quiet after Ichigo answered my question. it was good to know where his hollow came from not that I was scared of it in the first place. I kissed the top of his head

Rukia: Thank you for telling me. I said almost whispering

Ichigo: I love you Rukia

Rukia: I love you too Ichigo

We stayed like that until we fell asleep in eachothers arms
