Chapter 16 - It Takes Time

Chapter 16

Several days later

Rukia P.O.V:

It was 2 am when I heard crying coming from Kazui's and Ichika's room. When I woke I wondered what's going on in there. I proceeded to wiggle my way out of Ichigo's arms without waking him up and hurried to their room. I opened the door to find Kazui with his knees close to his chest. I hurried over to him and embraced him while pated his head with my hand to try to calm him down

Rukia: Is everything alright Kazui? Why are you crying? I asking my voice filled with concern

Kazui continued sobbing until he finally spoke

Kazui: I had a really bad dream. He responded in a low voice

Rukia: It's okay Mommy here it's going to be alright. I kissed the side of his head continued to embrace him. I didn't like the sight of seeing Kazui or even Ichika crying. Seeing Kazui cry broke my heart

Rukia: Do you want to talk about it?

Then I heard footsteps coming towards the room. Then entered Ichigo

Ichigo: What's going on Rukia? Ichigo asked in a sleepy voice

Rukia: Nothing it's just Kazui just had a nightmare. I responded

Ichigo immediately came over and also embraced Kazui

Ichigo: It's okay Kazui Daddy is here too

Kazui: It was Mommy Orihime

Me and Ichigo stayed silent after what Kazui said. We did not know what to say. It's been almost half a year since they died but since their kids there probably more affected by it

Kazui: I miss her. I miss her so much. Why did she have to die? Why did all of us have to happen please answer me mommy daddy. He said crying and looking at us for an answer.

I didn't know how to answer his question. I looked at Ichigo pleading for help

Ichigo P.O.V:

I took in what Kazui said. I realized that he is going through the same pain I went through. The same pain which I also did not want him to experience

Ichigo: Kazui look at me. I miss Orihime too and I do not know why this all happened but I do know that Orihime did not regret her decision of sacrificing herself. She did it so you can live a full happy life like any parent would want. Plus I don't think Orihime would be happy seeing you crying like this. I said in a soft tone before kissing his forehead

Rukia: Plus don't forget about me I'll always be here for you okay. She said smiling at him

Kazui: I love you so much mommy and daddy

Ichigo: We love you too

Before we knew it Kazui fell asleep in Rukia's arms. Then we decided that we let Kazui and Ichika sleep with us tonight. So she brought Kazui and I brought Ichika. We laid them down and we followed suit. I looked over at Rukia who was running her fingers through Kazui's hair and it was obvious that something was bothering her

Ichigo: Rukia is something bothering you? I asked in low voice

Rukia: No its just I didn't realize how much pain Kazui was going through and now thinking about Ichika might be going through the same thing as Kazui

Ichigo: And you don't like to see them in pian don't you?

Rukia: Yeah I don't

I took my hand and cupped Rukia's cheek so she can look me in the eyes

Ichigo: Rukia believe me I don't like it either but I promise you everything will be alright and I will stay right by your side and their side okay

Rukia: I know but it's going to take time

I leaned closer to her face and gave her a kiss. I kept it light but still passionate. I pulled away after a little bit and rested my forehead on hers

Ichigo: We should probably go to sleep now I love you

Rukia: I love you too
