Chapter 25

"You know what? I like being no one," he is sitting on his driver's seat and I'm on the passenger's.

If you're thinking that the car is moving, no, no, no, it's not. We decided to hang out here. Lexi, Dine, and the boys went out their way. It's already three in the midnight, but I don't still want to go home. Nakaupo lang kami rito at nilalanghap ang malamig na hangin.

"You're not no one!" I tried convincing him. "You're you—Sian Kim!" he smirked and drank his glass of tequila.

"No, silly, that's not my point," his smile on his face doesn't fade.

"Then, what is?"

"My point is, I want to stay this way--" I don't get what he's tryna say.

"Huh?" nakakalito kaya mga pinagsasabi niya.

"Wait, okay, listen." his hands are open and pushing them downwards like what we're doing when someone is angry and we want to explain something and calming the other person down. Tumango-tango ako sa kaniya. "Here's the thing. I want to just be like this, forever. Me being no one's obligation. And in return, I am not obliged to anyone."

"Explain further, 'di ko ma-gets, duh!" hindi lang pala halata pero he's such a deep person. His eyes gazing at the stars are so beautiful.

"Okay! Wooh!" he breathed heavily and started talking like he's not the Sian I know. He talks like he's not the troublemaker-Sian in college. "I like being just the simple me, what people thinks about me, good or bad—it's actually fine. I don't really want to invest my energy doing things to make people like me, it looks tiring and you know, boring," he looks at me with his chinky serious hot eyes.

"Uh-huh-" tumango ako at pinakitang handa akong makinig.

"Am I being transparent to someone I just met hours ago?" he chuckled.

"If you don't wanna continue, it's actually fine," wala na akong hawak na inumin ngayon at wala na akong balak magpakalasing ng todo.

"No, I just noticed you've soften my heart in just a small amount of time," his smile is a perfect match for his eyes. Lalong sumisingkit ang mata niya.

"Okay, then go on!"

Hindi ko na alam kung paano kami nagsimulang magkwentuhan tungkol sa mga bagay-bagay. It just happened.

"Well, to coninue what I was saying, uhm..." ininom niya nang straight ang tequila at itinabi iyon sa tapat ng manibela. "Life's too short to care about other's mind. I'd rather do what makes me comfortable and happy..."

"Does that include making trouble in college?" singit ko.

"Hmm... kind of?" natawa kaming dalawa sa sinabi niya.

"You're a smartass which you look like you're not," I said honestly and he looks at the stars again. His open car is so nice, ganito na lang kaya ang bilhin ko? So that I could star gazing also.

"That's what they were saying in my 2nd year of being a med student,"

He is a med student? What? Yes, I know he studied nursing at FEU, but I didn't know he was going to do med, at least there are no rumors. "What, a med student? Did I hear it right?"

"Yep! Oh diba, ikaw rin," he is chuckling and I'm liking the vibe his smile gives. "Actually, I will be in my third year this year,"
