"No, I'm not going to take it back!" Beomgyu dares to look at his eyes directly. He did his best not to scream when his father began throwing punches at his body, except to his face. Everyone will know that he is a battered son once his face has any scar or bruise. 

He was used to it, but he can't deny the fact that it still hurts. His father is strong, the perks of being a general before. In the next days, he has to tend his wounds and act as if nothing happened. But he has no idea if he can mend the wound in his heart.

"Be grateful that this is a lighter punishment than usual because Soobin pleaded to me. Why can't you just be like him? He is way better than you in many aspects you bastard!" his dad shouted. Beomgyu keeps his face straight. Aside from enduring physical pain, he is also experiencing emotional suffering.

His body is now twisted in pain as he endured everything until his father got tired of beating him up. When his father left, he let out a heavy breath. He did his best to stop himself from tearing up. He is just staring at the ceiling, unable to move his body because of too much pain until he fell asleep on the floor.

Beomgyu woke up when he felt that someone is touching and treating his wounds and bruises. He opened his eyes as he realized that he is now laying down on his bed. He is shocked when he saw his mother, who had never done this to him before. Every time that he was punished, his mother is just watching, not doing anything to stop his husband because of being too scared. That made Beomgyu feel aloof towards his mother, but he still respects her.

"Is that you, mom?" his voice is weak.

"I don't want to lie to you Beomgyu. I just went inside her body so that I can take care of you" he recognized that it is Taehyun.

"I see, I almost believed that my mother is capable of taking care of me as this" Beomgyu looked away when his eyes are starting to glisten because of tears.

"I'm sorry if I did this to your mother. You don't have to worry because I made sure that she was asleep when I used her. I felt useless when I saw you lying on the floor, heavily beaten" Taehyun can't hide his worry and care for Beomgyu.

"Thank you for being my hope" a smile appeared from Beomgyu's lips.

Taehyun looked away as he felt his cheeks burning when he saw Beomgyu's smile.

"How can someone like him can smile this beautifully? Am I admiring him?" Taehyun thought, he never expected himself to take care of Beomgyu.

They are now both silent as Taehyun wrapped some bandages on Beomgyu's body and did some cold compress, especially at the bruise to his stomach.

"I don't know if I can control myself once I saw him beating you up again,"

"You don't have to do anything because you might blow up your cover. Don't worry cause I'm used to it then I will be better soon. I just have to endure everything. Eventually, this will end when dad is about to pay for his sins" using Beomgyu's right hand, he touched the hands of his mother, hoping that Taehyun can feel his warm touch.
