1 week before the death of Rani's parents.
Rani was still a fairly small cub. She was a few weeks younger then Kion when he formed the guard. She was very close with her parents. While Baliyo spent most of his days playing with his friends or training. It was his dream to be a member of the night pride, he always wanted to get better at fighting. Rani's uncle Baliyo spent most of his time with a lioness that came to the tree a while ago. Her name was Nirmala, even tho Rani was young, she could tell that they loved each other. As for Rani, she spent almost all her Time with her parents and grandmother. When with her parents, she would snuggle and cuddle with them and talk about many things. 3 of which were, Boys, love and the future. She would always ask her parents for stories about there dates or how to talk to boys, or how to know if you love someone. She almost never left the tree, she was very shy and nervous around people, she would try to avoid other kids her age as much as possible. However, there were 3 things at the time that made Rani's life unbearable. The first was the fact that her most embarrassing secret was known to everyone at the tree. Second was the fact that because of her parents and who they are, every friend Rani ever made, Rani always had a voice at the backs of her head saying "are they really my friend" she always worried that her friends were only friends with her because of her parents. The worst was Ala. Ala was a lion who was a bit olde then her. Ala teased her, shoved her, called her names and even constantly brought up Rani's secret. What has happened was, One day, Rani was walking around looking for her brother, then she tried and fell down a small cliff, luckily and unfortunately, a few vines a few feet from the ground caught her fall. After, she found that she couldn't get out, she was stuck. She started yelling for help, and as luck would have it, Ala and a bunch of other kids found her. Of course instead of helping her, they just laughed at her. After a few minutes of being stuck, Rani started to cry a bit. So of course, she got the nickname of cry baby. "Oh look, little cry baby Rani is crying." Ala said. All the teasing made Rani cry more. After 10 minutes of having to endure that, Rani finally got out and made an immediate beeline to the tree of life. After that she almost never left the tree. She would stay with her parents, uncle and grandmother for pretty much the entire day. Personally, Rani didn't mind it to much, sure she didn't really have friends, but she was so loved by her family. But, everything changed when Rani's parents died. No one told her how they died, they just told her "there was an accident". Overcome with grief, Rani went into an emotionless state. She stayed home all day, every 3 times her grandmother ate, she ate once. Rani losses a lot of weight during the first few weeks after her parents death. One day, Rani left to go to a hill at night. She stared off on the distance, she was starving, but didn't want to eat. She just looked at the moon and starts before crying. That when Ala and the other kids came to the hill. "Hey Rani, you ok." Ala said in a gentle voice. Rani looked at them, her eyes filled with tears, she saw that a few of the lion cubs had done zebra in there mouths. They walked up to her and put it in front of her. "W-were sorry for your loss, and if we ever hurt you with our jokes, we never meant to hurt you." One of the male lion cubs said. "I'm really sorry, I hope we can all be friends." Ala said. Ala nodded to the other and they all left, except Baliyo. He stayed with her. "You goona be ok big sis." He asked. Rani couldn't answer. Down the line she became the leader of the Night pride and became a decent leader. Still tho, every few nights she would have nightmares that would scare were to go back to sleep. Eventually she met Kion and developed feelings for him. Like her, he had a past of bullying, she didn't really tell him about her past, but she listened to his past. She felt so bad for him. 1, her bully's became her friends and helped her. 2, her family helped her, she couldn't stomach the thought of how hard her parents deaths and bullying would have been on her if she didn't have her uncle, brother and Nirmala. It was when he told her about all the pain he went threw that she knew, she would love him forever.
