Hello. Thank you for reading.
~My second day. The wide sliding door of my veranda was opened, giving me the view of the usual morning breeze of Azagra.
A small table was in front of me. There are cereal, milk, bread and other utensils. I must visit Jenny today in their house after my work from Hacienda Solegracia.
Ngumuso ako. I should be prepared for the unexpected moments would've come. Ah, yes, like what happened yesterday. That brute!
My brother didn't gave me a warning or a notice!
He had just allowed that Javelarozque to roam around the hacienda like he's the one who's managing it. At ano iyong sinasabi niyang pagmamay-ari na lupa?
I thought he was bluffing but he seems not. I gritted my teeth. Hatred and dismay filled my heart. I ate my breakfast as thought
I took a bath, wore my usual working clothes. And I just smiled sheepishly when I saw myself again in front of a wide mirror. Now, I am back again as the sole haciendera.
"Good morning po," I greeted my parents and kissed their cheeks.
They were eating their breakfast on the dining table. Kuya Kevin was outside, combing his stallion. I bid my goodbyes to Mom and Dad as I headed off to where my new horse resides.
Abednego was having his meal also. Delicious and nutritious grasses given out by the precious nature.
Kuya Kevin whistled then hummed. I arched my one brow and scoffed. I was patting and fondling the head of my horses.
"Rajancho reported unto me yesterday. He said that you bathed well the horses," he chuckled.
Umismid ako. I striked him my glares. He lazily threw me a blank gaze as a response.
"When did you two became so close? You even let him resides on our hacienda! And oh, he said that he owned a land there. Why, giving me confusing welcomings, Kuya!"
He laughed loudly as his two hands raised in the air. Suminghap ako at pumikit nang mariin.
"He's my girlfriend's brother, that's why," he casually said.
I turned my head on him, now bewildered. I licked my lower lips at sarkastikong tumawa.
"And so? That was not a valid reason to give him a pass, Kuya.
My brother stopped combing his stallion's hair.
Thought you were good friends who treated each other dearly than lovers," he said, amused.
"And about the land.
My forehead knotted.
His teasing smirk reminds me of those old days before. When in fact, there's no sense at all!
"Dearly than lovers? I told you, haven't I? Magkaibigan lamang kami. At noon 'yon, Kuya. Rajancho had his sweetheart now," kumulo ang dugo ko.
Bitterness was evident on it, spreading freely as the thought of it came on my mind.
