courtney's pov -
The week rolled by fast, and it was Friday before anyone knew it. The days were filled with chatter about the feedback from Show With No Name. Questions poured in for Shayne and I: When was the wedding? What did Courtney's dress look like? Did Shayne cry? I laughed, knowing throughout all the episodes, there were bound to be at least four questions for us. Even though we only appeared twice.
"Feels like we had our house warming party yesterday." Shayne sighed as we headed home. Friday traffic was always a bear, even though we were heading home around three in the afternoon.
"It does." I agreed with a nod. "Did you hear back from Jax?" I glanced at the cars stuck in the thick traffic with us.
"I did. They aren't bringing the kids. I think Jax said they're still with their grandma? That, or they'll just be at home." He shrugged his shoulders.
A quick, sharp pang of emptiness surged in my throat. Forcing me to cough and clear it out.
"Oh. Well, probably better for them." I said, half trying to convince myself. "Maybe not super kid friendly." I let out a humorless laugh.
"We'll see them soon." Shayne reassured, placing a hand on my thigh, squeezing just above my knee. His other hand fastened on the wheel, eyes squinting in the sunlight.
I know.

"Shayne!" I called into the bedroom. Catching one last look of myself in the mirror, I smoothed a hand over my torso. A short, fitted, navy blue dress with thin straps hugged my figure. "C'mon! They'll be -"
I was cut off by Damien, Olivia, and Sam bursting through the door. Did we not lock it?
"Court!" Olivia sung as they climbed the stairs. "We brought wine!"
Olivia ran over to hug me. I laughed as I glanced at Sam and Damien trudging in behind her.
"We were at the liquor store for almost an hour." Sam groaned. "Couldn't make up her mind." He rolled his eyes. He and Damien both held two bottles of deep red liquid.
"Oh, thank you, guys." I gestured toward the bottles. "Always welcome here." I joked.
Damien chuckled. "Fridge is fine?"
"Perfect" I confirmed. "You guys are the first ones here. Make yourselves comfy." I pointed loosely toward the couches as I moved toward the fridge, helping Damien find a space for the wine.
"Where's your lover boy?" Sam asks, settling on the couch.
"Still changing." I scoffed with a grin. "I swear to god, you all think that I take the most time in the bathroom." I shook my head. "He does."
As if on cue, Shayne appeared from the bedroom. Dark jeans, white shirt, and a navy and yellow striped overshirt.
"Excuse me, you did take forever." He stuck his tongue out at me before he moved to greet Sam and Olivia by the couches.
"Well anyway, now I can finally say congrats to you two together." Sam said with a grin, bringing Shayne in for a hug. "I'm so happy for you both."
"Thank you, Sam." I grinned across the room.
"Of course. It's about fucking time." He laughed, earning a chuckle from Shayne.

At about ten o'clock the house was full and the moon was bright. Most of our Smosh family had arrived, so had Jax and Sam, in addition to Shayne's family, my parents and some of my siblings.
Shayne and I were tossed around into different people's embraces. Kari was ecstatic to finally see the house, as was my dad. The two of them happily ran down the beach, shrouded in night, but they didn't care.
From across the room, I could see my mom talking it up with Shayne and his parents. Occasionally, I'd meet his eyes. Just for a moment, before he focused back on the conversation.
The whole night a constant stream of 'congratulations' flowed around me. I showed off my ring every few minutes to an excited friend, who grasped my hand and gawked over it. Olivia was by my side through all of it. Grounding me. Sensing when I got overwhelmed, and reminding me to breath
A few minutes later, Olivia and I led Kimmy, Sarah, Monica, and my mom into the master bedroom to show off my dress.
"Courtney, it's gorgeous." Kimmy said, eyes wide. She ran a soft hand over the lace, barely touching it.
"So when people say 'you're a princess' this is what they mean. You have shit like this." Monica said with a straight face. Making us laugh.
"Honey, I love it." My mom said, side hugging me as we both looked at the white gown spread out on the bed.
"She was the crown jewel that day." Olivia smiled, elbowing my side gently.
"Didn't Shayne plan this all?" Sarah asked. I nodded, causing my mom to gasp excitedly. "Claudio is useless." Sarah laughed, looking out of the room at her husband.
"Shayne's a good one." I said quietly. Beaming as I looked at the dress.
"Court!" Tommy shouted from outside of the bedroom. I laughed, peeking my head out of the door.
"What's up my guy?" I asked. Straining my ears to hear him over the noise of everyone else.
"I found my speaker. It was literally in the back of my car with some gross blankets." He took a comedic breath. "So can we play Backstreet Boys?"
I laughed, stepping out of the room and trusting Olivia to put my dress away.
"Go for it, dude." I smiled. He sighed gratefully then scampered to the kitchen table, setting up the contraption.
Shayne caught me as I walked across the room. Hugging me from behind, arms secure around my stomach. I bent into him, laughing.
"You doing alright?" He asked, checking in. I turned to face him, rubbing my hands along his arms.
"I am." I nodded. Taking a step closer to him, I let Kevin slink past us to the kitchen.
"I love you." He whispered, pecking my cheek.
I was just about to say it back when Jax and Sam appeared next to us.
"Congrats you two!" Jax smiled, hugging Shayne as Sam hugged me.
"We're so happy for you guys." She smiled. "Your ring is gorgeous, Courtney."
"Thank you." I grinned. "Thank you."
"And thanks to Jax over here." Shayne pointed at him while talking to Sam. "He got me the guy's number I needed. Major props to you, dude."
Jax beamed. "Of course."
Tommy turned the music on and Jax's words were drowned out. I threw my head back and laughed as I watched people around the floor perk up at the sound.
Without wasting a second, Shayne pulled at my hands and tugged me into the open floor space between the kitchen and the living area. He held my hands, and we jumped to the upbeat 90s music. I giggled as he spun me, promptly spinning himself under my arm after.
Other people joined us on the makeshift dancefloor. Noah and Tiffany, Sam and Olivia. I heard Sarah sqeal as Claudio dipped her. Damien danced with Keith. Monica grabbed her wife's hands, and Shayne's mom pulled Clarke onto the floor as well.
I felt truly happy. All of these people were here to celebrate us. I held Shayne's hands tighter, losing myself in the hopping of my feet.
You feel alive, don't you? I smiled.
