shayne's pov -

About a month and a half after we found out, we decided to tell the Smosh squad. On the way to one of her doctor appointments, Courtney had nervously admitted to not wanting to tell everyone at the office right away.

"I mean can't we just tell our family first? Then maybe the squad?" Her fingers twisted around her seatbelt.

"Of course. Whatever we want. We can go as slow as we'd like." I reassured her.

Now, we all sat out on the beach, under our wide rainbow umbrella. Sam and Olivia, Keith, Damien, Noah and Tiffany, and Courtney and I. Clad in our bathing suits, the high sun still proved hot despite it being late fall.

Friday afternoon and the beach was mostly clear. This had become somewhat of a tradition in our house, after work Friday we'd come home, then the squad would meander over for a few hours. I loved it.

Courtney sprawled out in her low beach chair next to me. The ever so slight swell of her belly just barely showed. Invisible if you didn't pay attention. Keith groaned on his towel, flipping onto his front, he propped himself up on his elbows to look at us.

"Does today seem long to you guys, too?" He asked.

"Shooting took forever." Olivia agreed. "But now it just perpetually feels like three o'clock." She laughed.

"Cheers." Courtney muttered with a smile.

"Honestly, I'm kind of in the mood to like go out and eat." Noah said with a shrug. "Burgers and beer sound nice."

"I'd be down." Damien nodded, pushing his sunglasses up in his hair. "There's a really good place about a mile North of here." He smiled, glancing at me. I laughed.

Courtney stayed silent, fiddling with the strap of her bikini top.

"I'm so down. Haven't had a good burger in forever." Keith sighed.

"Court? Shayne?" Olivia looked at us. I stared at Courtney. You can take the lead.

"Actually, you guys can all go. I think Shayne and I might stay back." She chuckled and looked at me. "Yikes, sorry, didn't mean to talk for you. Do what you want."

"No, no, you're fine. You stay, I stay." I confirmed, resting a hand on top of her's.

"What? You're turning down burgers?" Olivia joked. Not meaning to press.

"Ah." Courtney smiled, shaking her head. "Raincheck?"

Olivia was about to answer her when Keith cut in. Innocently unaware.

"You're missing out, you guys! Have you seen that new beer cave off of the exit?" His shocked hands slammed into the sand.

"Heard about it in passing." I shrugged nonchalantly. It caught Damien's attention.

"Alright, what's up?" Damien asked. Hands rested on his knees.

"I swear, you're psychic." Courtney laughed, her eyes flicking to Damien's.

"Something's up?" Noah asked, tuning into the conversation, he sat up in his chair.

"We just have some news, is all." Courtney said. I noticed her relax in her chair. Take it slow, I'm right here.

"Everything okay?" Olivia asked. Perking up from her spot in the sand, sudden nervousness flashed across her face.

Courtney took a breath.

"I'm pregnant." She went for it. Beaming. Light laughter escaped her lips.

Olivia gasped, immediately getting up to hug Courtney, pulling her up as she did.

"Oh my god, congrats guys!" Damien said, standing and walking over to me for a hug.

"Aw, my gosh!" Keith gushed, motioning for Noah to help him up.

"I'm so happy for you guys." Tiffany said, joining Olivia in a group hug with Courtney. Sam, Keith, Noah, and Damien doing the same for me.

All of us stood now. Excitedly talking amongst each other, cheers and well wishes swarmed our heads.

"Are you guys going to make an announcement video with Smosh?" Sam asked.

"No," I said quickly. "We'll probably wait a bit. If anything we'll post on our individual channels. News is bound to spread."

Courtney hummed, running a hand along my back as she pulled herself closer to me. Sensing my tenseness.

"I think our plan is to keep things as private as possible." She nodded.

"That makes sense." Damien agreed.

"If you guys need help with anything, we're here." Olivia reassured, clapping Sam's shoulder.

"Same here." Damien said. "And I'll remind you twenty more times." He laughed.

"I'd offer, but I'm not the best with kids." Keith snorted.

"True, I'm just afraid of them." Noah said with a smirk, earning a backhanded slap from Tiffany.

"Thank you, guys, all of you." Courtney giggled.

"It means so, so much." I said, brushing a hand through my hair.

"Love you guys." Olivia gushed, pulling Courtney and I in for a hug. The rest of the group quickly followed. Giggling and pressing cheeks together. A mesh of 'I love you's' and 'congrats again'.

"So I guess, we'll go get some burgers and beer, and you guys'll chill here with some carrots?" Damien joked as we all separated. Eliciting laughter from the squad.

"I'll have you know that carrots soaked in pineapple juice taste really good." Courtney countered.

Sam laughed, looking at me. "And I think that's our parting note."

"I mean if we wanna catch the restaurant before the tipsy Karens that are out way too late, then we should get going." Keith deadpanned, towel in hand.

"I would laugh, but it's true." Olivia said. "We'll see you guys soon, yeah?" She grazed Courtney's arm as she walked past.

"Yeah." She confirmed with a smile.

"Congratulations again." Tiffany said as she and Noah hiked the stairs.

"I'm so happy for you guys." Sam said, taking Olivia's hand as they followed. Keith in tow.

Damien paused before he walked after them. He laid a hand on my shoulder, the other on Courtney's bicep. He smiled at us, gave an approving nod, then headed up the steps.

Leaving Courtney and I alone to enjoy the evening in the sand.
