(Y/n) Pov :

- So this is Dwarfs' Mine... It used to be prosperous, thanks to magic crystal mining but...

The moment I caught a glimpse of the woods where was the Dwarfs' mine after having crossed the mirror, a chill ran down my spin. It was nighttime, but I think that even during daytime, I would've felt the same way.

Like Crowley said, the place had been abandoned for years. The woods, that probably used to be very pretty, was now invaded by weeds. But more than that... I had the feeling something was wrong with this place. As if something reaaaaally bad was gonna happen. And with what happened today, I wouldn't be even surprised

- Crowley didn't exaggerated. This place must have been abandoned for years to be in such a state...

Grim was seemingly feeling the same way I did, shivering with fear

- Uuuuhh... Feels like something could jump out...

Ace pointed at something within the woods. It was a little cottage, covered in spiderwebs. It was probably the place where the miners used to live before the mine was abandoned

- Oh, there's a house back there. Let's go ask them about the mine.

- I doubt there's someone living there...

- We should at least check.

We nodded and headed toward the house. Deuce knocked at the door, but since no answer came, he opened it

- Good evening...

However, there was no one inside

- I guess it's abandoned... It's a mess in here.

I coughed because of the dust in the cottage. It was even worse than in Ramshackle. Just like I thought, the house had been abandoned for years, allowing dust and spiderwebs to accumulate, much to Grim's disgust

- Puwah ! I got a spider web in my face... Peh ! Peh !

- Awww, poor baby.

- I'm not a baby !!

- Yes yes.

Ace changed the subject and pointed at the center of the room, and more precisely the table, surrounded by seven chairs. A very, very small table, as much as the chairs

- Aren't the tables and chairs on the small side ? Are they for kids ? One, two... There's seven ! So many !

- Well, I guess they were many people there before the mine was closed... Anyway, we won't find anything there. We should go to the mine.

- You're right. Let's go check it out.

The mine was as scary, if not scarier than the woods. The feeling it gave me when I was approaching it made me shiver. The only thing that was calming me was the warmth of the earring. Next to me, Grim gulped, not eager to enter there

- W-We're gonna go in that pitch black cave ?!

At his fear, Ace snickered and mocked him, while I took the frightened creature in my arms, next to my chest

- Scared ? Lame.

- Don't worry, I'm gonna protect you, Grim.

Nor Ace's mockeries nor my words seemed to really please Grim

- Naaah ?! I'm not s-scared at all !! A-And I don't need you to protect me !! I'm taking the lead! You guys, follow me !!

- I'm holding you, y'know ?
