Up and Down love

Part 23

Ag:

My head was in a swirl when I got up and I couldn't remember what happened and what didn't. I rolled over and Mia was up on her phone texting somebody. 

I sat up and closed my eyes, "Give it to me straight. How crazy was I?"

She put down her phone and laughed.

"Dude this isn't funny... What happened?"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Okay, so you played strip beer pong, jumped in the pool with your clothes on, beat up that Ethan kid, and called Anna completely buzzed."

"Beat up Ethan!? Who's Ethan?" I looked down at my knuckles, bruised and busted. Gave me slight PTSD from the first beat down. "WAIT?! Called Anna?! What did I say?!"

"Way too much... You said how you want her back now, but the way y'all would make up would be...Uh, interesting."

My head pounded harder, "of course I did."

I didn't even care so much of what I said to her, but that I talked to her and couldn't remember. 

Mia picked her phone back up, "by the way Lyric is coming into town and should be here in a little bit."

"Nice, I think I'm going to take a drive and clear my head. Mind if I take your car?"

"Yeah sure, if you need to talk about anything you know you got me."

"Thanks."

"And Ag..."

"Yeah?"

"Don't let her go so fast."

I didn't speak but nodded my head.

A couple of minutes went by and the only thing that stood out to me was how bad I wanted to talk to her. I'm just going to do it. I picked my phone up and clicked on her name. 

It rang for a good while and then it stopped.

 I finally spoke, "Hello?"

"Hey."

Hearing her voice made my heart almost stop. "I don't even know how to start this..."

"I'm going to assume you called because of last night's call?" 

"Yeah. I am so sorry about what I said. I didn't mean it."

Anna:

"You didn't?" 

"I don't even know. Can't remember that much. All I know is what Mia told me."

So she doesn't even remember asking for this to all be over? "Most of it was just about the break between us."

"What even is the point of this break Anna?"

"I would love to know because you're the one that brought it up."

"I know. That's not really what I meant. What do you think this break is for?"

I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. "It's so that we can figure out if being apart would be a better option."

Ag:

Felt like a stab to the heart. "Is that something you want?" I was furious, but let my words become calm. 

"I just..."

I dropped my phone in the crack of the seat. "Ah, shit!"

I looked at the road one last time and dropped my eyes to the ground to try to find it. When I looked back up I was in the wrong lane and all I saw was another car. The lady driving dropped her jaw and yelled. As hard as I could I jerked the wheel. 

Everything was spinning as the car rolled. My vision became blurry and then it went black. I couldn't move, but my eyes kept shut. Blue and red flashed and a siren blared. It all suddenly went silent and cold. That was it. 

Anna:

I heard it all. A crash, sirens, yelling. "AG?! AG?! BABY?!"

I could hear footsteps as the sirens went silent. The phone rumbled as it sounded like maybe the phone had been kicked. Then there was a voice. "Hello?"

"HELLO? WHO IS THIS?!"

"I'm an Officer ma'am are you related to the person in the car?"

"I'm her girlfriend! What's going on?!"

"Ms. I am going to need you to contact her parents. She has been in a crash on Wesson street."

"Okay, okay I'll do that now!"

I hung up and dialed her parents. It rang and then Ms.McDaniel answered.

"Anna?"

"Hi, Ms.McDaniel! I was on the phone with Ag and she crashed. She is on Wesson Street."

She gasped so hard I thought she was going to hyperventilate. "GET THE CAR NOW! AG WAS IN A CRASH!"

"Please let me know how she is!"

I could tell she started to cry, "We will."

She hung up and then it was just me. 8 hours away and in no way able to help or be there... 

Darkness made everything feel cold...
