Chapter 3

Maddie POV

When I got home after my walk, me and Luke started texting back and forth the rest of the day. He seemed so awkward at first like me but he actually has a lot in common with me. For example we both like 90s/early 2000s punk rock. I learned he is absolutely obsessed with penguins. So on so forth and stuff like that.

Right now we were having a major discussion on who is the best DC Comics superhero.

Superman is amazing. How could u think Batman is better. ~xxLukexx

Nuh uh. Batman is the best I mean he worked hard to get where he is. And also...OF COUSE I SUPPORT HIM NEW YORKER HERE HELOOO ~xxMaddiexx

Do u wanna hang out 2morrow? U could meet my friends and we can take you and your friend on a tour of Sydney. ~xxLukexx

I quickly lower my phone as Ness walks in with a smirk on her face. She was sleeping over that same night.

"Who were you texting? You really seemed to be enjoying your time there because as soon as you saw me you put down your phone. Oh...wait is it a boy?!?!" Ness got really exited looking when she said the last part.

I rolled my eyes and replied," Yes it was. His name's Luke. Yes he's from here in Sydney and he wants me and you to come with him tomorrow to meet his friends and they will give us a tour of this place tomorrow."

She smiled. "Aww you know,me so well that you could read my mind."

"Of course I know what you'll ask idiot. We've been best friends since third grade. Anyways I know you brought to also know you didn't stay to unpack and you met someone. And since you're blushing it was a boy and you stuttered. You only blush for that long when you screw up when meeting a guy."

Vanessa blushed even darker and said," Yeah. I did. His name's Michael and I did stutter because I'm stupid."

I laughed and said," Yeah you are, aren't you?"

"Oh shut up Maddie!"

"You know I can't. That shouldn't even have to think to know this.

She punched my shoulder at this statement. I put my hands up in surrender. We watched The Avengers because come on, it's an amazing movie. By the time the movie finished it was 11:30. We said goodnight and dozed off into a peaceful sleep.

I woke up the next morning before Ness at 10am and smirked. Payback time bitch. I filled a bucket full of water and put ice in it to make it colder. I got ready while I waited for the water to become ice cold. I put on some distressed denim shorts, my Ramones singlet, and a my black Converse sneakers. I applied simple makeup which was just winged eyeliner, mascara, and concealer.

When I finished applying my mascara, I heard a ding coming from my phone. It was a text from Luke.

I'll pick up u and Vanessa at 12. ~xxLukexx

Ok. C ya later my tall penguin. ~xxMaddiexx

The time on my clock read 10:45. I have plenty of time. But Ness doesn't.

When I finished getting ready I stuck my finger into the water to see how cold it was. It was perfect. I sneaked back into my room and dumped the bucket on Ness's head. She shot up faster than lightning.

"What the hell Maddie!" She screamed at me.

"Payback bitch for setting my alarm so early the day we left NY! Now get ready Luke and his friends are coming at 12 and it's already," I checked the clock,"10:58."

"Shit."she muttered.

I smiled victoriously and went downstairs to eat breakfast.

I heard a knock at the front door and went to open it. I saw Luke and a boy with dark brown hair behind the door frame. I smiled and called Vanessa telling her that they're here. She came down wearing a pair of black skinnies, vans, and a AC/DC tee.

We headed towards a car that was parked in front of my house. I raised my eyebrow at Luke.

"One of my friends, Ashton, who's 2 years older than us is driving us around." I nodded.

When we got in I saw 2 other boys. One with red hair and the other with curly hair.

Luke spoke up and said," Well time to uh introduce everyone. Guys this is Maddie and her friend Vanessa. Girls these are my friends Ashton," he pointed to curly haired one who smiled showing his dimples and waves hello. He seemed very friendly. Luke continued and said,"This is Calum," he pointed to the brown haired one who then winked at us. I giggled. Flirt.

Then Luke pointed at the last one with red hair and said," And this is--"

He was cut off by Ness who said in disbelief,"Michael?!"

He smiled back with big green eyes and said,"Hi Vanessa!!!"

Well this should be interesting.
