The temple was not the way I had left it. There was smoke coming out of the roof and a section of the buildingg was on fire. Boba Fett was fighting off stormtroopers. There was a ton of laserfire.
"Open the back, I'm going to help!" I shouted to Kanan. I got up from my seat and ran.
Once I reached the ramp on the back of the ship, I assessed the problem below. A) there were tons of stormtroopers and b) there were all the Jedi Kanan and I had freed. They were being killed faster than I could comprehend.
I jumped out and powered my lightsaber on as I fell to the temple. I deflected blasts and found my way inside. I stopped dead. I felt a presence. Vader was here. So was the emperor. I felt another presence. Obi-Wan. But he was supposed to be on Tatooine!! Then again I wasn't supposed to be here either...
It was like Order 66 all over again. Or I guess just a continuation of it. I ran inside to lool for Obi-Wan. I wasn't looking where I was going, and I ran into the back of Darth Vader by accident. He turned around. I slowly backed away. I was very careful with my word choice during this conversation.
"Sorry, master. Wasn't looking where I was going." I sounded just like I had when I first becane a padawan and ran into him by accident when I was getting on the Twilight to go rescue Master Plo from the Abregado System mess. I'm trying a new strategy this time. I could tell he snapped back into who he was before this stupid war.
"Life can be like that again, master. You have caused so much pain and loss. Come with me to find Obi-Wan so that we can fix what the emperor has done to your mind." He almost turned to follow me, but didn't.
"I'm sorry, s-" he started to say. It was the exact same thing he had said to me before my trial.
"I know you don't know what to do. It's ok. I don't either. But I do know that the only way to fix this is to reestablish the Republic."
"I can't. I've started down the dark path, and there is no turning back. I've already made this descision."
"Padme wasn't your fault, master. Death is a natural part of life."
"But you don't understand! It was all my fault! I'm sorry, but the Chancellor is the only one left that will support me. Leave, or I will not hesitate to remind you of your status as a Jedi scum."
"It isn't too late. Remember that." I said as I ran past him.
