Alexis P.O.V.

"Lex, are you awake?" Zayn whispered, sliding the curtain back on my bunk.

Our eyes locked, seeing as how I had barely slept that night. Or really any night since I found out I was pregnant.

"Want to go for a walk?" he asked quietly. It was only 5am, so the other boys would all still be asleep for a few hours.

I nodded and took the hand Zayn extended towards me. He helped pull me out of the bunk, which was much appreciated. I had never felt as tired as I did now. Everything seemed to require so much more effort now.

I grabbed my phone, seeing that I had one new text. From J.

I waved Zayn off and whispered that I'd only be a minute. He went to the front of the bus to wait for me. I quickly opened the text, my heart racing.

"Not mine. Good luck figuring out whose it is, doll!"

I let out a silent breath, instantly feeling relief. Three options still wasn't great, but at least it wasn't Josh's baby. I leaned against my bunk for a few minutes, regaining my composure.

Once I felt like I could breathe and function normally, I joined Zayn in the front.

We both slipped on shoes and exited the bus. We were stationed in Nowheresville for the next day or so. Not long enough to get a hotel, but long enough for our bus to be parked out in a parking lot surrounded by absolutely nothing.

Zayn and I began walking silently, our only companions being the chirping birds. The sun had just started to come up, but it was still chilly. I tightened my jacket around my shoulders.

There wasn't another person, car, or building in sight. And I liked it.

We walked down the road, getting farther and farther away from the two buses we traveled on.

"How are you?" Zayn asked softly after a few minutes.

"I'm okay," I responded truthfully. "I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I'm okay for now."

Zayn nodded. "Just- Don't do anything dumb, okay? We all really care for you, Lex."

I smiled at him weakly. "You think I should tell them, don't you?"

He shrugged, not meeting my eyes. "It might do some good."

"But what do I say? Do I tell them the father is Louis?"

"I don't know, Lex. I wish I knew what to tell you, but the only way to know is a test. And for that you'd need their blood samples. Which you couldn't exactly get without telling them."

"But I also can't go in there and say, 'Oh hey, I need to find out who the father of my future child is. Can I have blood from all three of you?'" I snapped.

Zayn sighed. "I know, I know. But think about it. What happens when you start to show? They're going to figure it out. And I think all three of them would then assume it was there's. And they'd probably be pretty mad at you for not telling them."

I groaned, rubbing my eyes as Zayn and I continued down the deserted road. "I know," I groaned, holding out the "o". "I just don't know what to do, Zayn," I pouted.

"I know, Lex. But you can't exactly hide it forever."

"I'm aware. What if I just pretend like it's Louis'?"

"We just discussed this. Harry and Liam will be worried and suspicious."

"Then what's the answer!?" I exploded, stopping and spinning on Zayn.

He paused in his walk, running his hand through his hair. "I don't know, Lex! This isn't my problem!" he yelled angrily.

His sudden outburst surprised me and I instantly felt tears bubbling up to my eyes. The tears were full of so much emotion I'd been bottling up. My fear, my sadness, my anxiety, my everything I'd been feeling for what felt like forever.

The tears burst out of my eyes and I fell onto my knees, my head in my hands.

"Oh, shit, Lex, I didn't-" Zayn started, instantly regretful. He kneeled down next to my heaving body and gently rubbed his hand across my back. "I didn't mean it, Lex. I'll help you. I'm here for you. Just, please stop crying. Please, Lex."

I let out a few shaky breaths, wiping away the tears. My sobs were gone as quickly as they had started.

"We'll figure something out, Lex. We will."

"Like what, Zayn!? There are no fucking options!" I screamed, looking up at him.

"I don't know, but I know we'll find something," he responded calmly.

I sighed, wrapping my arms around my legs and pulling my knees into myself.

Zayn sat down fully, wrapping his arms around my shoulder and allowing me to rest my head on his shoulder, which I happily did.

We sat just like that in silence for a few minutes. I stared into the field that seemed to surround the road endlessly, fixating on nothing in particular. The plants stretched on and on for miles.

As we sat there, I closed my eyes gently, trying to erase everything that was messily sloshing around in my mind. It was all a big mess and I was going to use these few, peaceful minutes to try my hardest to forget about it.

I heard a light rumbling that seemed like it was getting louder by the second. I opened my eyes, sitting up from Zayn's embrace in confusion.

I looked down the road, seeing nothing that would explain the light roar. I turned my head to look up at the curve ahead, just in time to see and car screech around the corner.

"Zayn!" I shouted, my eyes wide at the blinding headlights that were headed directly for us.

Zayn looked at me first before turning to where I was looking, absolutely frozen in my spot.

"Lex!" Zayn yelled before grabbing me and trying to throw both of us.

The last thing I felt was the hard pavement against my stomach and Zayn's weight half covering me before we were both slammed into by an extremely powerful force, knocking the entire world black around me.
